“Great spot for R&R!”
Reviewed 20 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

An environment that allows you to quickly unwind, take in the view & enjoy the quiet! Owners went over & above to rectify an issue that had occurred. Lots of little extras to help make the stay comfortable.

We had the most incredible stay at Shenanigans spur! The highlight was definitely sitting in hot tub on the balcony with stunning mountain views and enjoying spectacular sunsets. The fireplace was great and made our winter stay nice and warm. It's very clean and has everything you need for one night or 3 weeks.
Would definitely recommend!

“Wonderful country escape”

Our family of five (two adults and three daughters) plus two dogs had an amazing four night stay! We loved the relaxed feel of the house and surrounding property. When we arrived in the middle of a January heat wave but Bec had already turned the downstairs aircon on which made inside a very appealing place to be. The upstairs bedrooms where a bit warm but we had brought a fan which helped until the evening breeze kicked in. We all put our phones down and spent lots of time kicked back on the extra comfy lounge chairs playing the supplied board games... Priceless! The veranda was secure enough to contain our two dogs when needed and we enjoyed using the long table for outside meals. The three horses in the fenced paddock where friendly and quiet although a bag of carrots proved to be a popular attraction. Maleny is a great little town with interesting shops, restaurants and the best IGA I have ever seen! This provided great ingredients for meals prepared in the well setup kitchen at the house. There is a tight spiral staircase to the upper bedrooms, amenities and spa. This proved no problem for us but could be an issue for any one lacking good mobility (downstairs has plenty of beds and good amenities). None of us wanted to leave and wished we had booked just one more night... I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from it all!

“Lovely accommodation”

We booked this property for a girls weekend away. There are 3 double bedrooms and a bunk room. There were 6 of us so bedding was an issue. One upstairs bedroom is huge but there was no way we could get a fold away up there. The spiral stair case is a killer. Anyone with very young children or elderly holidayers should rethink this property as the stair case is narrow and vertical. The drive into Maleny is more than 5 minutes away so it's a drive not just a few more minutes in to a restaurant or shops. Lovely views and position. Could just have a few more essentials. We cooked in so glad wraps, foils and a few extra dishwasher tabs would have been useful. Considering there were 6 of us 2 keys would have been really useful as we sat waiting to enter on several occasions.

“Fantastic weekend getaway”
Reviewed 31 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Just had the loveliest weekend away with a group of girls.House, property and location are fantastic. Outside fire-pit was great. Wonderful supply of firewood for both indoor and outdoor fire. Bec is delightful. Kitchen was great but only 1 tea towel was a bit tricky. Has a great laundry if you need it. Perfect for two families as there is three queen rooms and a bunk room that kids would love. There were six adults in our party so one of us did have to sleep on a trundle bed but apparently it was very comfortable. If there is a group of adults going just check out bedding options and make sure you are happy with them. There are internal narrow spiral stairs up to two bedrooms so make sure you are happy with that. Spa on deck upstairs was FANTASTIC. I bathed and watched the sun go down both nights. Sat on deck in the morning and watched the sun come up, listened to the birds and watched the horses. Would highly recommend. A second key would be useful if going with a group.

“Room for family and friends including pets to get away in a beautiful location”

We had a lovely three night stay which was not long enough! House is very nicely set out for entertaining (we had 14 people in total for lunch one day and had all the items required in the kitchen to cater for them) - We cooked all our meals on the verandah bbq and used the oven just to heat garlic bread etc. The L shaped verandah is lockable for family pets so they cannot escape - (they can however get out of the grassed area that leads from the verandah if they were the exploring type). We only travelled once to Maleny for a day trip, which was very close and a beautiful drive. Next time we would not take as much groceries, and just shop at Maleny for supplies. Big freezer and fridge to cater for all our drinks and food we brought (which was too much of course!) The owners have a great library of books, plenty of games, and a great black jack table with shoe that we used and had lots of laughs. It does have a steep spiral stair case that leads to two upstairs bedrooms with queen beds in each (one has a small verandah with spa bath with spectacular views) and a nice large bathroom. The staircase may be difficult perhaps for an elderly person or if you had too many drinks :), although our 83 year old mum/grandmother did navigate them carefully to have a look at the top level without a problem! On the bottom level there is another bedroom with queen bed and a room off the verandah that has two single beds, a trundle under one of them and a sofa. We had a couple of queries that were answered immediately per text - extremely helpful and could not have been more obliging. It was a bit cooler than expected for December and we had not packed any warm clothing at all - so pack a jumper in case. However, we did make use of the beautiful pot belly fire in the loungeroom on the last night - which was amazing - warmed the entire house! We had three generations staying for these three nights, My partner and myself, our two grown up children and their partners, and my mum (the young 83 year old) Also of course our much loved pets - (one large dog and one smaller dog) If you have the opportunity we would highly recommend you book this wonderful hinterland paradise. Look forward to visiting again.

“Peaceful charm surrounds this mountain retreat”

Easy to find and space to relax with a balcony view to rival the best. Being pet friendly (on the ground floor), meant holidaying with our large dog was no stress and travel was only an hour from Brisbane so all in all the perfect get away for the whole family.

Wireless works well to stay in touch with the world if you have to. all the mod-cons make the experience a seamless and memorable short stay. Its about 5 minutes drive from town so day trips to stock up on whatever you need and visit the Maleny township.

If your looking for a quiet place to recover from the city life and traffic chaos then I can highly recommend this one for a short / medium stay and will be back in January as we have a wedding to attend in the area and this will be perfect for our accommodation.
