Recently my husband and I spent three weeks at the Chateau Royale Hotel, Maroochydore. We were on the ninth floor with a stunning of the beach, the river mouth and the little town of Cottontree.
Often we have stayed in similar places only to find that the balcony gets sun for a limited amount of time only each day, but this time these sun-seekers were thrilled to find that all the balconies faced north and had sun all day. As we were trying to escape the southern cold, we were delighted.
The town of Cottontree is adequate in every way for our needs and more shopping was easily reached by a short bus ride or a healthy walk to the Plaza.
The apartment was a little dated and the shower door needed repairing (which was as quickly as possible but should have been quicker) but it had comfy beds and decent furniture. We were very comfortable. The layout of this apartment was good and easy to live in.
We would happily go there again for our dose of winter sunshine.
I must add that the real highlight for me was having a relaxing massage at the hotel spa. I wan to go back every week!

Room Tip: As all balconies are north-facing, they are sunny all day. Ninth floor was quiet (except for the occ...

We have been holidaying with friends at the Chateau Royale for nearly 10 years now and keep going back because it is a fabulous location with great views, very spacious comfortable and well equipped apartments. The managers have always been very friendly and accomodationg. Whilst we enjoy they odd day out in Mooloolabah, Cotton Tree is a quiet, pleasant area with lovely little shopping strip and good beaches.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor with an ocean view.

Really enjoyed a weeks holiday here .. It was around A$1,000 for a 2 bed apartment .. Parts of the building are a bit dated but you are not paying for 4 or 5 star hotel standards. The view from our apartment and the Cotton Tree village/area where Chateau Royale is located were just perfect for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Rooms on the beach side have a beautiful view of the beach and all the way across to Mooloolaba as w...

Going to Chateau Royale is like taking the benefits of home on holiday with us, but better views, more fun and less work.
We are a retired couple and do not like "nomading" or campling. We love the ambience of the big space living area and the comfort of good beds. If we have grandchildren to visit there is a spare room to put them in. (doesn't happen often.)
Last year we cellebrated my 70th birthday with all the family. We booked an extra unit for those who could not fit with family and decorated the living room and used the wonderful cooking facilities to prepare a feast and fun. The staff helped with extra chairs for the occasion and were very helpful all round.
We can walk from the units to many interesting places, cafes and shopping. For us it is ideal and we go back and back and back.

Room Tip: The tower units have a wide view but the sun does not pour into the bedrooms too early. Ideal.

Our holiday was made just about perfect by having a clean and spacious apartment which was close to all the facilities and entertainment we required. Staff were all friendly and attentive to our needs. We are already planning our next visit.

We had a 2 bed apartment on the 10th floor. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Outstanding views. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Chateau Royale is located close to the beach, a small shopping centre, Bowling Club, Council Library and the Surf Club. A large shopping mall was about a ten minute walk. There is also a small pool, spa and barbecue area available for guests and secure undercover parking.

Our family of four (including a 2 year old and a 5 month old) recently stayed at the Chateau Royale as part of a visit to participate in the Sunshine Coast Marathon.

We received a great rate for a 2 bedroom apartment on level 1. The unit was really spacious, with lots of room in the lounge room, and a generous sized master bedroom. The balcony, which overlooked the pool, was also very large. We loved the full length doors across the lounge room, and the oversized windows in the bedroom - felt like we were outside when inside - if you know what I mean.

While the unit was a bit dated (with 80s furniture and colour scheme and a few cupboards that had seen better days), it was absolutely spotless, and had everything we needed.

The pool area was also beautifully maintained, with a large spa, great bbq and a number of tables around the pool. While the pool could have been a bit bigger and a bit more child friendly (not much of a shallow end), our 2 year old still had a ball.

Location-wise, the units are nice and close to both the beach and lots of shops and food places.

The staff were also very welcoming and helpful - offering a late checkout free of charge.

All up, we were very happy with our stay, and will be back!

Room Tip: If you like your privacy, you are probably better off getting a room higher up. But if you don't...
