We stayed for five days at Wunpalm Motel. The new owners had been running the motel for only three days when we arrived. They were eager to be helpful. We used the motel as a base for exploring Noosa, Glass House Mountains, and Caloundra. It was ideal because there was free parking and we had basic necessities such as plasma TV, good shower, window air conditioner unit, refrigerator, plenty of table space, and three unused Australian-configured wall plugs that we could use to charge our devices. The motel is close to the cafes and shops on Ocean Street and close to the Sunshine Motorway. We were very happy with our room No. 12, located all the way at the end in the second floor. From the bedroom window we could see the swimming pool (hardly anyone swam there), and there was no neighbor noise or street noise during the time we were there. There was a connecting door to the room next to us, but it had been painted shut, and we felt it was as good as a wall. We had a good wide bed, and the bed spread served as a blanket when the air conditioner cooled the room down to a chill. A maid came before noon and made the bed, faithfully refilled coffee and tea, and changed the towels. The management asked that we check out at 10 am when we left. There was no free facial tissue and no free Internet, although we could pay a provider for wi-fi access. The wi-fi website estimated it costs about A$1.07 per hour for their service, but we did not use it. We used a Vodafone SIM data card with a Galaxy Note. We feel that Wunpalm motel is a super value for those who do not need to stay next to the beach, and we recommend it as excellent value for money.
