The Hotel has a very friendly and helpfully staff and the rooms are clean. There is also a Shuttle bus Service to the Bus Station and to the Supermarket. The village is very small but very Nice. Ít was very Nice to stay here.

This hostel is perfectly situated on mission beach, its just a 1-2 minute walk away! Now the hostel its self isn't all thrills, its basic....but the atmosphere there is really nice and chilled. The staff were really friendly and went out of their own way to help you out, telling you whats worth to see, where to eat and just handy tips..thank you adam! They also have a nice little service which where they drive you to the greyhound station, and also pick you up. Should you need a shopping run they also do these! Overall really nice stay on a beautiful beach, great staff, great location and excellent value for money

Room Tip: if there are two of you...it may only be $1-2 more if you share it between you and if you have a YHA...

We were passing through Mission Beach on our travels down the coast of Australia and were very lucky to end up staying here. The staff were efficient in contacting us the day before to let us know about their courtesy bus service which was kind of them.
When we arrived at the hostel the guy behind the desk was very friendly in welcoming us and giving us a guided tour of the hostel. He gave fantastic advice on where to go and what to see in the surrounding area.
The rooms were kept very clean and had air-conditioning throughout the day which was a bonus. Our 9-bed dorm had its own bathroom which was nice, and was kept clean.
Kitchen was very well stocked and very clean.
I can't think of anything to complain about for this hostel. Some people may be put off by the lack of lockers/locks, but not once did I feel unsafe here and I left valuables on my bed throughout the day with no issue.
Will definitely recommend to other travellers.

Firstly, mission beach is beautiful however there's not a great deal to do there. We only went for the skydive. The hostel picked us up from greyhound station and took 10 mins to get to the hostel. Room was ok, very small but decent. Tv area is nice and it's easy to talk to people there. Kitchen however was an issue, as there are no shutters there a hundreds of flies it's impossible to get away from them but would maybe help if the hostel had shutters or even just a sheet or something on the walls as it's all open planned. Location was amazing for the beach which is literally a 10 second walk away. No wifi however the pub up the street has wifi so w just used that. Woolworth's is a 40 min walk away but hostel drives up every hour. Adam had just started working as manager when we got there and he was doing a fab job. We would stay again if we were to go to mission beach but we probably won't go back.

-friendly staff
-relaxed atmosphere
-almost outdoor kitchen and hangout area
-average cleanliness
-30 sec. walk to the amazing beach
-fresh coconuts everywhere :D
-expensive little supermarket in town or coles out of town (1h walk along the beach or ask the shuttledriver of the hostel to take you there when he picks up somebody from the greyhound station)

I had a really wicked time at the Mission Beach Retreat. The people, that worked there, were very friendly and helpful concerning food, rafting tours, pubs.... The hostel is very clean, very charming and because there are just 35 beds, I felt like being with my family. Other good things are, that the hostel provides a shuttle service nearly every hour to get to a supermarket and you are right next to the postcard-beach.

Had a 3 night stay and really enjoyed it, the staff couldn't do enough for us and were so friendly, Booking days out, Bus pick ups and bottle shop runs were so handy. Dunk island day trip was wicked for sights and chilling out on the beach. Deffinately stay there again.
