Anyone rating this place less than 5 stars needs to have their head examined.

We stayed 4 nights two weeks ago and hated to leave. Great owners and staff that could not do enough. Wonderful food. Only very slightly negative: the ala carte breakfast menu is spectacular but the buffet breakfast (when they are full) is only average. Press them for something from the ala carte menu - sorry Paul!

Room Tip: Try to book near the lodge and go for a suite over looking the river directly if your budget allows.

Staying here is like leaving the real world behind, we were treated like royalty and no tasks was too much trouble, mind you, you do pay for it!! The rooms are beautiful set in an immaculate rain forest, the pool is to die for and the restaurant food and setting is not to be missed ( but again you will pay for it ) if you have the time and money well worth a stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this romantic lodge and it's absolutely 5 star! The staff and service exceeded our expectations, treating us like royalty! They are helpful, friendly and informative but not overbearing. The setting is simply incredible - literally set in the rainforest and on a running stream with boulders and a beautiful sandy beach area. The food served in the restaurant is amazing. Breakfast is to die for - the buffet selection has gourmet cold meats, gorgeous cheeses, breads, cereals. Then you can select a hot meal to have with it the pancakes are divine! Dinner is unbeatable, gourmet dishes using local, fresh products with a contemporary twist. The crocodile entree was such a highlight, while you overlook the stream from high up in the trees. The rooms are stunning; overlooking the rainforest. The rooms are spacious with a gorgeous massive bed, gorgeous spa, lovely rainforest music playing and a pretty veranda with a hammock! You are literally relax all day, there are beautiful walks through the rainforest, kayak down the stream or take one of their free bird walks. I cannot rate this lodge more highly!

My husband and I came here in late March to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, and we loved this resort so much that I felt compelled to write a review. The setting is unbeatable - it's literally in the middle of the rainforest with a beautiful lagoon, ferns, walking tracks and some of the most picturesque nature that you will ever see. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome at every step (including making a fuss over us for our anniversary and upgrading us to a Riverhouse room, which was lovely). The quality of the food at the restaurant far exceeded our expectations as well; it was a 5 star dining experience with very little to fault. We also had a massage at the onsite spa, took a lunch hamper on a bush walk and swam each day in the billabong (the pool is also beautiful but nothing beats swimming out in nature). I highly recommend this place to anyone that loves the outdoors, good food and total relaxation :) Thanks to all the staff at Qualia for looking after us so well.

So I asked reception if I could stay...forever...clearly there was a financial cost involved -unfortunately we are returning home tomorrow after 5 days stay..my partner not willing to maintain this feeling of peace and well-being I have experienced for the first time in 5 years. If you are working 365 days a year 24/7 and have lost your work-life balance..this is the place to take stock of self..from the moment we were picked up from the airport, the service provided exceeded expectation. Facilities - outstanding. Food - outstanding. Staff - can't do enough to ensure your stay is memorable. GO! You won't be disappointed.....Oh, and for all you glass is half empty people..negatives-the running waters of the Mossman River and no TV in room...boo hoo.

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed with any room.
