My fiancé and I chose to get married here. It was the best decision we could have made.

The accommodation was spectacular, the food simply amazing, the surrounds we're fantastic and the Wedding was the most beautiful and proud moment of my life.

I was saddened to discover that they were scaling back and eventually dropping their wedding packages. I wish more people could have this sort of experience.

Room Tip: The billabong suits are worth the extra $$$. If you want to beat the heat and humidity, try going i...

We stayed here for 5 nights, and got married here!
It is really just gorgeous, stunning. We had a billabong suite, and it was perfect.
There are plenty of rainforest walks and is close to other great attractions like Mossman Gorge.
The food in the restaurant is divine! I ate things I usually don't even like, and it was all delicious.
The service is good, although I was a little let down that at our wedding dinner the placecards and music were forgotten, but not all can be perfect!
Definitely be back!

Silky oaks lodge was our final stop on our honeymoon and also where I celebrated my birthday. We spent 2 nights in a luxury treehouse which was complete with a massive bathroom which had it's own spa bath, a lovely king size bed, day bed and hammock. We had breakfast and dinner included in our package and the food was absolutely divine. It was lucky there were some beautiful walks through the rainforest to walk it all off! There was a lovely quiet slightly heated pool as well as being right by the water so a cool dip in the lagoon was great after an afternoon walk.
The healing waters spa at the lodge is a must do as well. I had an hour long treatment which included a salt scrub and Vichy shower "massage" something that was on my to do list for a long time and it was absolute bliss. Although the hotel is a little more than some, it is worth every cent and I would highly recommend to anyone after that quiet relaxing break from the real world.

Well, the lodge is certainly not cheap, but it is a destination itself.
(1) Do not book any excursions or other activities while staying here, there is plenty to do just around the lodge
(2) Better to include a Saturday during your saty. We biked to the Mossman farmer marker (opens every Saturday), it was fun
(3) If you are driving on the right side of the road like we do, and do not want to drive by yourself, I highly recommend you use the hotel car service even if it is a bit more expensive than other car service you may find in the area. We booked the lodge car service from the lodge back to Cairns. Our driver Daiz went out of his way to make the 1.5h drive so much fun. When we mentioned we want to watch the wallabies along the road, he took the detour and took us to a local spot that was easy for our family to watch hundreds of wild wallabies. When we got into Cairns, he took us for TWO rounds of min tours around our hotel near the marina shopping centers, showing us where everying was, pointing out the interesting places, good shops and restaurants. I had no idea the good service extended all the way back to Cairns

Overall, it's a good place to relax after intense activities on the reef or in the rain forest

A decadent 3 nights in this lovely location, nestled within the beautiful Daintree Forrest. The accommodation was divine- a treetop villa, with a balcony looking out into the tree tops. The rain at night was mesmerizing. We were greeted with a personal introduction to the lodge and a glass of champagne and this personal touch continued with a welcome note and bottle of bubbles in grebe room. The food was a of high quality and the service great. We really wanted to unwind and relax and this was certainly the case but there was also two good walks, a billabong to swim or canoe in as well as being located close to cape tribulation. I would highly recommend this lodge.

The setting is beautiful & quiet. We had a tree house which was lovely and the bed was comfortable. We were there 3 days & didn't leave the lodge. There are walks in the National Park, a tennis court, little gym, canoes etc. the restaurant is lovely for dinner & there is a really interesting wine list. Free wifi in the common area, but ok 3G in the room. Friendly & attentive staff.
