This place is weird. The only good thing was the micro brewery set up out the back. I think we might have been a bit late - like 20 years too late. Still - you have to go and get a photo in front of the big pineapple. Might as well have a beer while you're there.

The big pineapple itself was out dated and needs a revamp but the free train ride and wildlife park that is down the hill were great! Dissapointing there was not a souvenir shop and not much choice of food, although there was a great produce market on the saturday we were there

We had a great time at the Big Pineapple. Don't go there expecting it to be like Australia Zoo - it is on a much smaller scale but the zoo had a great range of animals. There was a farmyard as well as Australian animals. Most animals have come from the closed Alma Park Zoo and I have to say the day we visited the enclosures were super clean and the animals well cared for. Staff were extremely friendly and the train ride was well worth it. Very interesting commentary. The Big Pineapple itself may be a little tired but the kids still loved climbing inside, reading the history and popping out the top to look at the view. We had the yummiest mini pancakes ever and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Kids will love it and we would go again.

Despite the fairly good exterior, the interior although informative is very outdated, dusty, rusty and in poor overall condition. We would have love to have seen it in its heyday. I am surprised that 'Golden Circle' hasn't taken advantage of advertising by updating it.

Go all the way to the top and it's a good lookout of the area, unfortunately the pineapple fields below are not well maintained and have weeds etc growing through them.

We went on the Saturday and has some market fair which was greatly appreciated, we then went onto the newly started QLD ZOO.

It would be great if the owners/caretakers could restore this great attraction to its previous glory.

Good for young families that do not have any mobility issues as there are lots of stairs and uneven ground/inclines.

What more do I need to say? There is nothing there! As a resident of the Sunshine Coast I would be embarrassed that the big pineapple is meant to be iconic to the region. The markets are non-existent, the micro brewery is a food stall with a few chairs selling pies. Do not waste your time!
