“Lovely quiet place to stay.”

Good place to stay. Warm cosy quiet. Some very bright flowers growing in garden near pool. we cooked dinner everyday in slow cooker. The aroma wafted throughout the entire complex. Mmmm. I have no problems staying there again.

We stayed one night here. Stanthorpe is rather expensive and this motel was homey and good value for the price. It is an older style motel, so it is not flash or with all the mod cons, but it is comfortable, quiet and clean. What else do you need really. I actually prefer the older style motels because they are built better. The shower was very big and generous. Which after a day of trekking is very welcome when you are sweaty and stinky. The receptionist was very chatty and friendly. Service is always a bit of a guessing game in Australia, but this lady was very nice and helpful. I don't think that the centre of town is soooooo far away. If you are not used to walking and drive everywhere, then it would certainly seem far. But 20 minutes is a bit of a stretch. For a normal person with good fitness 10-15 minutes is more realistic. There is a great pie shop at the entrance to the Woolworths supermarket. Something even for vegetarians and vegans. Which is a nice change. We were in Stanthorpe for hiking in Girraween National Park. So we didn't need a TV. Who goes on holiday to watch TV anyway?? Too many other things to do in Stanthorpe. It certainly has grown since I was last there.

I have been staying at Granite Court on and off now over the last few years and find it one of my favorite places to overnight.

The staff are always welcoming and nothing is too hard, the food is great and its only a short few minutes walk into town.

I've stayed in other places in and around town but this is about the only place you don't hear the traffic and if you find yourself bored, they can organise tours of the local wineries or national parks for you no problems.

Will keep on going back here.

Just got back home from a weekend away in Stanthorpe. Stayed at Granite Court Motel & had an absolute ball!!! The staff & management were lovely and very friendly and extremely helpful. They helped us pick out a few wineries and things to do, that even the boyfriend enjoyed! The room we stayed in was cozy and warm - despite the very white frosty morning outside!! Rooms were very clean and comfy! Had a huge yummy fully cooked breakfast delivered to our room. Everything was very reasonably priced. Can't wait to visit again - definitely will be staying there again - see you soon :D

Room Tip: The room we stayed in (5) was very cozy and romantic :)

We decided to go to Stanthorpe with the family and a few family friends for a dinner night at one of the wineries.

We were staying at Diamondvale Lodge for a few days, but they were booked out on the last night. So we decided to stay where some of the family friends were staying - Granite Court.

Apparently, the booking for the room we had is very different to theirs.

First off, the room must have been a room for 2 originally, but they have now squeezed in 2 more beds. As soon as you walked in, you nearly tripped on a bed!

The beds (and the rest of the room furnishings) must have been about 50 years old - we nearly rolled off them in the middle of the night. Needless to say, we did not sleep very well.

The person running the place was not the nicest when we were checking in as well.

We have stayed at a few motels around Queensland and many of these, although basic, are neat and tidy. Granite Court is not like this.

Do yourself a favour - book yourself in at one of the other motels in the area. You'll be glad you did.

PS: Don't cook on the barbeque - see my photos....you'll see why!

This was an okay motel we stayed in while in Stanthorpe. My only complaints that it's a 20 minute walk into town, and they did not have cable TV, as they advertised. The reception was horrible. Everything else was fine and we would stay there again because it's only $89/night.
