“This place is simply just the best”
Reviewed 23 May 2011

From the moment you drive into the property you can feel and see this place is very special. Tony & Kerrin are wonderful hosts and immediately make you feel very welcome.
This was our second stay at Diamondvalle Cottages but this time we brought some close friends with us. It was exactly how we remembered, absolutely brilliant!
If you are visiting Stanthorpe this is the place to stay.

From our warm welcome and tour of the cottage and facilities we knew we would have a delightful stay at Diamondvale.

Having not stayed in Stanthorpe or the area before we were keen to see the sights, sample wine and pick some fruit, but we soon realised that being "home" at Diamondvale was the best part of our 5 day Easter weekend.

There were plenty of fun and interesting things for our children (5 and 8) to do; fishing in Quart Pot Creek, feeding the ponies, playing with the dogs, playing boulle, roasting marsh mellows by the camp fire and swimming (brrrr) in the creek. In fact the TV was only turned on twice.

Kerrin and Tony are helpful and cheerful hosts, they obviously enjoy seeing people relax and unwind on their property. The cottages are beautifully appointed with personal touches like fresh flowers and on our occasion Easter Eggs. The beds were warm and cosy, the kitchen had all we needed to prepare meals - although we used the BBQ at the slab hut mostly. The lounge room was comfortable with big leather sofas and recliners and fireplace - just perfect for a little after dinner drink.

We loved it so much have recommended Diamondvale to friends and family and have rebooked again for next year.

What a wonderful weekend. We have very fond memories of your time at Diamondvale, which was topped off by watching the looks on the children's faces when they each caught a fish! Priceless! We cherish these special visits and sincerely hope to see you back again someday. Thank you so much for your kind words. P.S. I absolutely love the photo of the children with our cheeky horse Angel in the background!!

Diamondvale cottages are a true rural haven. Furnishings and provisions in our cottage surpassed expectation. Busy all day in Stanthorpe's orchards and wineries, the fireplace by night was so cosy. Who wants to go out to dine in town every night when one can put on the slow cooker with local lamb shanks? Then, of a morning, we woke to the beautiful scenery and the peacefulness of our own creek. Noone else about but for the two white ponies of our generous hosts, Kerrin and Tony. Here, one is completely away from the hustle and bustle, yet amazingly, it was just a short trip into the restaurants and shops for our supplies. We look forward to returning soon.

Friend and I spent 2 wonderful nights in Tea Tree Cottage and were blown away with the beautiful rural location with the breath taking Quart Pot Creek running before the property yet 2 mins to Stanthorpe, divine cottage, warm and super friendly hosts Kerrin and Tony who couldn't do enough for us, fabulous food and if you like dogs, horses and chickens this is the place for you. An absolute pleasure to have stayed in this B&B and will be back with more friends in the future.

A 4 day stay to attend a wedding in Stanthorpe; we could not have found a more relaxing friendly home from home. Kerrin & Tony have achieved Nirvana. Close to all that Stanthorpe has to offer, Wineries, Restaurants, Antiques, and so much more, there is something for everyone. This B & B offers the peace, tranquility and absolute stress reducing atmosphere to make your stay perfect. Hospitality is second to none, Kerrin & Tony give you there undivided attention, no question goes unanswered, we were spoilt and loved it. We do hope to see you again. Diamondvale is a very special place to spend a long weekend with someone who is special to you.

Our cottage was more than 100 years old but has been equipped with all of the mod cons that we expect, and perhaps judge, accommodation by.

Tony and Kerrin seamlessly arranged everything for us in advance - even to having our fireplace set each night so that we could light the fire just as the evening chill was approaching.

The choice of a deliciously home cooked breakfast, or, an equally fabulous continental breakfast was a hard call ( For me, the decision was for the cooked breakfast).

The full day wine tasting is also a must, although not for the faint-hearted. Having a few tastings , well perhaps quite a few tastings, before 10.30 will leave you in the inevitable situation where you will want to greatly contribute to the Stanthorpe economy by purchasing a lot of wine and local produce, as well you should. The wine is great ,as are the other products. Lunch at Mason's was delicious (lamb shank and creamy mashed potato and a glass of their Shiraz) . At the end of the day, after our final visit to Jester's Hill, which is also a wonderful place where you are feel like you are welcome to come along and taste their wonderful wines ( particularly the verdelho) we appreciated an incredibly comfy bed, a warm cottage, and a wonderful platter, which was already waiting for us in our cottage.

We had a great weekend. Tony and Kerrin are genuine and fantastic people, who let you spend a few days with them and their extended family, which includes two gorgeous puppies, a horse and the pony and those incredibly cute chickens at their wonderful homestead .
