“Lovely holiday in the Tablelands”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

This was the first place we stopped whilst in the Tablelands. The devonshire tea was very nice but fresh cream is a must as it tasted just like the stuff from the can. The setting is just perfect and the service was wonderful.

Dear Shazz,
Thank you for your comment. The cream on our scones is fresh with nothing added. We only use Dairy Farmers Pure Cream it is freshly whipped through out the day.
I'm very sorry that it did not taste the way you expected, and I have looked for reasons why, often it is best to advise us at the time so we can check and taste of the cream being used at the time.
once again thank you for letting us know.

“Great scones but why the long queue?”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

This is a beautiful place to have morning tea in a wonderful heritage building right on the lake. The devonshire tea was excellent but to order meant joining a long slow queue. The problem appears to be that people booking seats on the lake cruise are in the same line as those wishing to order. This takes too long as the counter staff spend too much time explaining the details of cruise. They need a separate counter for the boat cruise tickets! Otherwise staff are courteous and helpful. It can be busy if coaches are also there so arrive early. Beautiful tropical plantings in grounds and lovely rainforest walk around lake if you are keen on a longish stroll.

“Best burger I have ever had.”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

Overlooking the lake, highchairs and a play area (with toys) for kids. Kitsch tea house, serves alcohol, had beers and the best burger I've ever had (homemade patty, fresh salad and huge!). Definitely recommend, the walk around the lake is gorgeous.
