Owner description: Take a short stroll or horse tram ride over the wooden causeway that connects the mainland at Victor Harbor to Granite Island Recreation Park. Enjoy the coastal scenery and discover the island's interesting history along the Kaiki Walk or go fishing from the jetty, or causeway (no fishing from breakwater). You may even spot a southern right whale between June and October.

Aside from the horse drawn carriage which is unique and the beautiful views of victor harbour from theuins island, there is nothing much to see on the island. No wild penguins, just a few adopted fairy penguins left.

We took the horse drawn carriage to the island and back it was fantastic and a great experience but when we got to the island the restaurant and gift shop was closed for winter and the penguin exhibition was an extra $8 which I thought was a bit much it could of been incorporated with the carriage price. We still had a good time exploring around the island

We had brilliant sunshine and the tram ride over to granite island was amazing! Only downside is we had to pay if we wanted to see the penguins but if we are back over from england we will come back to visit!

Walked across the causeway and around the Island. Several different routes all with great views of Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay and the coast. Also walked out on the fishing jetty. Did not buy anything at the shop or use the horse drawn carriage. This is a must do walk in Victor Harbor.

The horse drawn carriage is worth the trip as is the scenic 40 minute walk around the island. We visited the penguin enclosure & gift shop on this small granite island all very relaxed & enjoyable
