“Anniversary stay in the wild cherry treehouse”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

This was our first visit to the wild cherry treehouse and it was everything and more. We were so suprised to see how it lived up to the pictures we seen on the website. It is in a great location very close to the shops in berlin but still out aways enough to get the peace and quiet of being out in the middle of nowhere. The place was very very fresh and clean and the housekeeping did a great job everyday. we really liked how we didnt have to check in at the office just call to get a keypad number made it feel more "homey" . If you are a planning a trip to berlin you MUST check out these treehouses it was an awesome visit we will deffinitely be back and I cant wait. :)

We often visit the Berlin area as well as Hocking Hills and have stayed various cabins - this time we stayed in the Sugar Maple Cabin of Mr. Coblentz. This is a very new cabin, well designed and layed out and literally a minute drive from the shops in Berlin.

There are a couple of things you should be aware - although if you pay attention to the pictures and descriptions you might figure it out.

First of all, the cabin is not in any way private - it is easy to find and convenient to the shops but be aware that it is in the middle of a very nice neighborhood with houses all around. It is very likely that your neighbors will see you if you leave the blinds open due to them having second floors. To us, this was not too much of an issue as it was winter and we stayed inside ...but we would have enjoyed the outside hot tub but it was impractical. There was some snow and since it is uncovered it was covered with snow...alas. We have suggested that they move it closer to the cabin and cover it. There is a fence and some trees/bushes but they would not shield leering neighboring eyes.

So, if you want an outside private hot tub...move on...the hot tub here is in the corner of the back yard several steps away from the house and uncovered and just kind of "out there" for all the neighbors to see. Would be fine for kids but this is really an adult cabin so not sure what they were thinking when they put it there...it is a very nice hot tub.

Check in was nice - a phone call gives you the code to get in and unless you need something, you don't see the owners. Everything inside worked great - they have just enough pots, pans, glasses, dishes - if you want something particular, bring it!

The carpet was the only thing we thought may need some attention soon - lots of stains and marks. The shower is a fancy one with lots of room - it may take a few moments to figure out how it works but once you do it feels wonderful.

As to amenities - it had just what the website says that it has - so understand if it does not list something - it is not there (don't complain about it)

We may book again but would love to have that outside hot tub closer to the house, covered and private.

We stayed in the Wild Cherry Tree-house and loved it! I like the idea of not having to turn in a key or pick one up - the code systems was great for us. The tree-house itself was beautiful and everything we hope it would be and more. Peaceful, quiet, comfortable...loved just sitting in front of the fireplace and reading - a perfect place to rejuvenate and collect your thoughts.
Makes you realize all the "things" you can do without.
We will be back again.
Thank you for building the tree-houses!

Basic things missing... kleenex, bathroom fan, Stay was enjoyable but there is a lot they could do to make this more inviting. There is no contact with whoever runs this except for an email and a phone call I made to get the code to get in, Maybe a welcome basket? Area info pamplets? There was no kleenex. Had to crawl on the floor under the small table by the door to turn the air conditioning on and off. Faint smell of something dead in the wall.Heater in recliner was not working. Parking was bad. If we had known we wouldn't have rented there. Would be bad in the winter for sure. Have stayed in nicer places in Berlin for sure. Won't rent there again.

My husband and I go to Amish Country every year as a day trip but this time we were celebrating an anniversary so we decided to rent a cabin. We decided on the Owl's Perch because the pictures on the internet looked really nice. When we arrived we were a little disappointed because we didn't have our own private cabin. The "cabins" are actually 1 building with 4 private living spaces. 2 on top and 2 on bottom. Now once we got inside were were very happy, the place is beautiful and we couldn't hear the people either next to us or below. Once the sun set we decided to enjoy some hot chocolate out on the balcony, however, there was no way to turn off the outside light. We tried every switch but they must be on some sort of timer so this did not make this plesent since we had to dodge the bugs that kept buzing around the light. The location of the cabins is perfect. Very close to the action of Berlin but far enough away that it was private and quiet. Would I stay here again? Probably not, not because of a bad experience but more because I would rather have an individual cabin.

My husband and I have been staying in amish country since we got married six years ago. Coblentz country cabins is by far our favorite place to stay. We stayed in the fox's den. It was beautiful. Way more than I ever expected for the price. Everything was clean and very tidy. It is very close to Berlin, but still very private. All of the cabins were full when we stayed, but we never saw another person. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay this is the place for you. I can not say enough good things about it. This will be the only place I stay in amish country from now on. I can not wait to try the whispering pines tree house next month. I am sure it will be everything I expect and more.

Our family of two adults and a 10 year old stayed one night in the Hawk's Nest, a very spacious, clean, and rustic double queen cabin. The $125 rate included complimentary parking and wireless. The driveway to the cabin is steep and narrow. The location is quiet, yet there are restaurants, gas, and shops within a few miles. The jacuzzi on the second floor was relaxing. This property is a nice change from the standard hotel and at $125, it is a good value. The water did not smell weird at this cabin as was mentioned in other properties.
