I heard about this restaurant from a co-worker and finally went there yesterday. Very sorry I had not gone before. This is, by far, the best Japanese food in this area. The sushi and sashimi fish tasted like they just came out of the ocean. Extremely fresh, no fishy odor or taste whatsoever. We had over 10 different kinds of fish, along with tamago (egg omelet) and every example was top of the line. We always try uni at a new Japanese restaurant because, if their uni is tops, everything else falls into place. The uni here is perfect. Even though they do not have a liquor license, they made it clear that they encourage the BYOB philosophy which is actually great since we are very selective about our sake brands and can therefore have whatever we want. To top things off, their dessert special was a pineapple/green tea panna cotta that was so good we ordered a second. The prices are slightly higher than a couple of other Japanese restaurants around but the different in quality makes the cost worthwhile. We will definitely be making Ando our choice for Japanese in the future.

“Best Sushi in town”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

A small family owned restaurant in Blue Ash neighborhood (not close to downtown) but the most authentic fair you can find. Sushi is a must try. One of the few places you can find sukiyaki. My favorite is the broiled black cod that come in a bento box (dinner meal). It is not cheap but you pay for the quality.

“Authentic Japanese cuisine with home made dessert!”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

My Japanese colleague and I visited the place after learning about the place from a colleague who lived in Cincinnati.

He had Tonkatsu and I had omakase sushi. Both were reasonably authentic and a very good Asian meal after having Western food for several days. Service was quick. The Tonkatsu was fried as you would expect in Japan. The sushi was quite fresh including the Uni (Sea Urchin)!

Enjoyed it and will definitely be back on my next trip to Cincinnati!

“Excellent Food & Service”
Reviewed 13 June 2013

My husband & I used to live in the Cincinnati area & fell in love with Ando's. The food is fresh, extremely tasty, & superior to many Japanese restaurants we have experienced since my husband was transferred to Maine. We return to Cincinnati occasionally to visit family. While there, we dine at Ando's nearly every day. Oh, how we miss it! The only New England Japanese restaurant which even comes close to Ando's is located at Hyannis, Cape Cod, Mass. What we wouldn't give to be dining at Ando's this very moment. The food is divine, the service is excellent, & bathrooms are spotless. What more can we we ask? We highly recommend - just please think of us while you are there. We hope to return soon!

“BYOB and enjoy a delicious dinner”
Reviewed 27 April 2013

It is more casual, authentic Japanese food. Can be pretty busy. Lots of people bring in their own beer and wine to drink with the meal. Everything we ate was delicious.
