“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2013

Stayed here on July 1, night before we toured some Amish towns. Very nicely decorated rooms. Actually, very impressed. Bedding was comfortable, had adjoining rooms. Pool was heated. Everything was clean. Parking was adequate. They could change the entrance doors, to open in. Someone had to hold the doors open to get through with your luggage. No tubs, showers only, but roomy. Could use a bit more water pressure. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent. Good rates. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Corner rooms, 200/202, adjoin and are quiet.

From the outside in: Parking was adequate, free, and well lighted. Entrance doors: cumbersome - outward opening, non-automatic, which was a major problem in using the luggage dolly to load in your baggage or to even carry in your baggage. There were two sets of doors that only separated enough to fit the dolly - - the interior set of doors could not be opened unless someone else had held it open before you entered the outside set of doors. There was a single door on the backside of the motel lobby to access the back parking lot, but there was no ramp break in the curb to roll the baggage dolly - - the dolly had to be lifted up over the curb to enter the building. If you have to park in the back because the front lot is full, this would be a problem at checkout unless you drive your car to the front to load your luggage - even this is a problem as stated before because of the arrangement of the entrance doors. Check in was easy but the check in attendant had a bad memory - when I returned to the desk to ask a question 10 minutes after check in, she asked me if I had checked in yet!! NOTICE: The motel has an in-room safe which you are charged for AUTOMATICALLY whether you use it or not UNLESS you decline its use at check-in. This is not stated on the contract - - it is only stated in very fine print on the top of the safe in the room, a notice which was hardly readable because of the items customers place on top of it, thereby rubbing off the small print. When we first entered the room, the room temperature was at 59 degrees, unbearably cold. The desk attendant stated that house keeping set this temperature cold because too many customers complained the room was too warm upon check in!!! It took nearly an hour to get the room to a comfortable temperature even in the middle of the summer. The room had inadequate power outlets. I had to obtain an extension cord from my vehicle to use for charging my cell phone. There was only one outlet on one side of the bed and one on the desk/ledge on the other side of the room -- and that outlet was hardly accessible because of the microwave placed up against it. The room had no refrigerator. We had difficulty getting room clean up service the second day. We ended up emptying our own trash and acquiring clean towels. The in-room shower was oddly egg shaped and the only ledge to place soap, etc., upon was barely useable for a bar of soap because the ledge was dimpled and nothing would stay on it. The toilet was in the same room as the shower and the tank top was rounded so anything placed on it would roll off. The complimentary breakfast was good, consisting of make your own waffles, bagels, toast, hot/cold cereal, fruit, coffee, sausage, and scrambled eggs. However, the small room was a noisy echo chamber and consisted of a very noisy ice machine, and noisy soda machine. The room was also a pass through for the swimming pool; therefore, users of the swimming pool had to pass through the breakfast room to enter/exit the pool, causing the floor to be wet, and swimmers to parade through the breakfast room. The entire lobby/breakfast room area are in need of re-design because of the current set-up and conditions. I am a little surprised that the Comfort Inn/Sleep Inn company would even have permitted this design.

Room Tip: Check the comments above to determine if you can tolerate the conditions cited.

While I have not stayed in the actual hotel rooms we have used the meeting room and pool area several times. The hotel is always very clean and the staff is wonderful. They offer many golf packages with the three local courses.

A fine location just off the highway for our trip to Pro Football Hall in Canton. Room was small, but nicely outfited. Everything was in good working order, clean, with good TV, and quiet setting. The bathroom has an odd egg shaped shower enclosure but we liked that the sink was outside this area. The breakfast area was better than average for a no frills hotel. Overall I would reccomend as it was a good value and a convenient location.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2012

We recently Stayed 3 nights at the Sleep Inn in Bolivar, Ohio, just outside of Canton. We were there to visit family for the Thanksgiving wekend. This hotel was only a half mile from their house so it was very convenient. The hotel was fine for the price that we paid. Nothing to rave about but was clean and very quiet which was good for us. The room was kinda small and the beds definately need to be upgraded but in spite of that we slept well at night. I can't say anything about the breakfast because we did not eat there during our stay. Overall the hotel is fine for the value. The next time we go back to visit family there, we'll probably stay there again.

Only stayed one night, but the room was very nice and clean, bed was very supportive, indoor pool/hot tub was wonderful (open until 10:30 PM), very convenient to the highway but without noise, nice breakfast buffet (make-your-own waffles), Wendy's and McDonalds within walking distance.
About 2 miles away from historic Zoar, OH (central garden is very picturesque) and about 5 miles away from huge Amish establishment in SouthEast Ohio.

Room Tip: Reserve rooms ahead of time as there are not many places to choose from in Bolivar, OH and this is a...

We booked 2 day’s ahead of time online on the Choice Hotels Website for a Friday night, and wanted a non smoking room with 2 double beds… But the web site search results shown only a King room Handicap Accessible was available. So we booked that room just to stay at this hotel, because it was located convenient to our travel itinerary for that night. Well to make a long story short, I asked when we checked in at the front desk if maybe there was any cancellation‘s or whether a 2 double bed room might have became available. Well guess what! - The front desk was able to change me to that 2 double bed room after all. So the moral of this story is, don’t give up just because that web site say’s one thing or another. Go ahead and check it out the old fashion way if needed to get that room you want! - Besides the front desk receptionist was pleasantly helpful in making my room change and keeping my online booking status for my Choice Privileges awards nights. So there you go…
Have Fun!
