“Bring a Camera”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

This was a great, relaxing day on the boat. Bring a camera. You won't want to miss the tug boats, the bridges and the history of Cleveland. Have some popcorn, sit back and relax for 1.5 hours. The best seat for photos is the middle deck, outside in the sunshine on either side of the boat. Ask for the military discount on admission price.

“Nice thing to do on the lakefront”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013 via mobile

After visiting the rock n roll hall of fame, the kids saw this beauty in the area and were asking to go in. Reasonable pricing for the self guided tour. A lot of areas are accessible to visitors and the ship is kept up nicely. Takes about 1.5 hours to do and the whole family loved it.

“Enjoyable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013

A walk through this ship indeed opens your eyes to what it was like to work or travel on Lake Erie. Many places to explore and the walk was enjoyable, but has many small stairs to climb, info for people not able to climb.

“Great Lakes Ship”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

A tour of the Mather gives you a lesson in what life is like on the Great Lakes - now and in the past. The ship is very interesting. There are a LOT of little stairs and small spaces to explore if you want to see the whole boat.
If you've never been on a cargo ship I think you'd find it very interesting. Great for all ages - as long as you can walk around.

“A very different perspective of the Great Lakes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

Although the Mather has been a museum for a while, this was my first opportunity to visit. Lots of interesting videos along the way, guides and a self tour. Pace yourself as you see fit, but you will be walking and climbing down steep stairs. The cabins are compact, and the other areas in the ship make this a floating community. Visit the galley, the dining areas, the Engineers' and the Captain's quarters, the decks and the engine room. This is like nothing I have ever seen. What a great Cleveland attraction.
