Owner description: A Christmas Story House, now restored to its movie splendor, is open year round to the public for tours. Directly across the street from the house is the official A Christmas Story House Museum, which features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos. Among the props and costumes are the toys from the Higbee's window, Randy's snowsuit, the chalkboard from Miss Shields' classroom and the family car. After reliving A Christmas Story at Ralphie's house don't forget to visit the museum gift shop for your own Major Award Leg Lamp and other great movie memorabilia.

If you are a fan of the Christmas Story movie, I highly recommend a trip to Ralphie's House in Cleveland where a great deal of the movie was filmed. My husband and I visited with our 3 children - ages 11, 14 and 16. The guide provided great information about the house and making of the movie and it is replicated to look just like it did when it was filmed complete with the "fragile" box, leg lamp and Red Rider gun. Visitors are fee to walk through most rooms and see and touch the objects and pose for fun pictures. There is also a museum and gift shop near the house.

What a fun stop in Cleveland, a must for anyone that is a fan of A Christmas Story. If you thought you knew all about the movie, the guides will fill you in on the behind the scene stories, which are fun and fact filled. It will have you watching the movie for those little gems. The house has been remodeled to closely resemble the set and the museum has several items/props from the movie. Take all the photos you'd like; pose in front of the tree or hide under the sink from the old man or call Mrs Schwartz on the upstairs phone. The house, museum and store all all well done and the staff friendly and knowledgeable.

We are so glad we stopped by after seeing other reviews on Trip Advisor. It was a cool tour through the house, very cool that you can touch anything and the tour guide will take your pictures with your camera. The gift shop has absolutely anything you can imagine Christmas Story! This is a great stop, we were there about an hour! Oh and I saw several questions on the restrooms, yes they have two in the gift shop and one in the museum.

Going into the home we encountered Doug. He told of how the house became a tourist attraction. He gave some very interesting information about the movie. You are able then to tour the house on your own. Remember, this house is from the early 1900's, so it is small.
You also go into 2 other houses that become a museum and gift shop.

This locale gets you off the main streets of downtown Cleveland and gives you a great snapshot experience of seeing how this film was made. There aren't many historic homes where you can crawl under the sink to take your picture or touch the items on display (such as the "fragile" leg lamp). Lots of fun, and the staff seems to enjoy telling the story and answering questions.
