“VERY HISTORIC!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

I had the pleasure staying at this property, OLD OLD, but very clean, and warming. From the Room to the Club Lounge everyone was so accommodating, I was informed that the hotel is going to be going into a major renovation in the near future! Not to Bright or Dark, it is a very comforting hotel! Entry is made on the 1st floor and you take the elevator up to 6.. then you walk across the hallway and use your keycard into the elevator and then you go to ur floor, the hallways are bright and clear of debris

We accepted an offer for a comp room from the Horseshoe Casino and were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience in visiting Cleveland. The Ritz is very conveniently located in the Tower City Center, with excellent access via the RTA from the airport. A short walk through the Tower City Center takes you to Public Square and access to the RTA bus routes, as well as the free Trolley. Interesting dining on 4th Street, where the entire street block is closed to vehicles and most restaurants have outdoor dining.

If you are an early riser, be sure to chat with Gary at the Front Desk, a true "Clevelander" who can give you much insight into Cleveland and her history.

A must see for children of the 60's is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Plan to spend the entire day taking in the extensive exhibits and films that will fire up the memories of your youth. It is a short ride/walk from Tower City via the RTA Waterfront Line.

Another must see is the Playhouse Square, the second largest theater complex in the country. Amazing renovations to a classic downtown district.

.. and finally, to Cleveland. You have done a wonderful job in restoring your city. Hopefully the upcoming RNC will open many eyes to the charm and beauty of Cleveland.

P.S. -- Our thanks to Dan Gilbert and the Horseshoe for the comp room at the Ritz. Our trip to Cleveland might not have happened had it not been for this enticement.

My husband and I traveled to Cleveland to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary last year (we've always wanted to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). We figured we'd do it in style so we stayed at our very first Ritz-Carlton. We were so glad we decided to splurge. Now keep in mind, this is likely to be one of the least expensive RC properties in the world. But that doesn't take away from it's luxury. We had the romance package which included the most delicious chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and beautiful orange rose petals scattered about the bed. And what a bed it was! Truthfully, it was the most comfortable bed/pillows I have ever slept on at a hotel. Usually I regret not bringing my favorite pillow, but not this time!

Now for the very best part of the Ritz-Carlton Cleveland: The breakfast at the restaurant. OMG simply the most delicious eggs Benedict I have EVER had. Truffles in the hollandaise. Yum. The waffles and pancakes were to die for.

So why am I writing this review so late? Well next week is a year since we visited Cleveland and we are wishing we were back at the RC....Maybe one day we'll make it back!

i stayed for a night at this hotel on a recent trip. The hotel is simply perfect in many ways:

- The rooms are very spacious and very well lit with all the modern amenities for a five-star hotel of the calibre of the Ritz. The coffee in the room is excellent.
- the rooms overlook the water canal.
- the bathrooms are large with a seperate tub and shower area with all modern fixtures.
- the location of the hotel is simply perfect for Cleveland. It is right next to a mall with several restaurants including the Hard Rock cafe. The casino is just a 3 minute walk. The main restaurant / bar area of Cleveland is a mere 10 min walk. You could just about walk to any place from this hotel.
- on arrival, the front desk gave us vouchers for a free drink at their bar.

The only real downside was that the room i got had a very noisy AC. It made a vibrating noise every time it went on, but i think this was just an issue with my room.

all in all, a great place to stay in Cleveland and also very good value for money.

Just spent the weekend in Cleveland at the Ritz. It was worth the splurge to stay on the club floor--extensive snacks, breakfast even heavy apps at dinner (it was enough for a meal) and all the drinks you could ask for. The bed was heavenly and I love that the hotel is located close to so many fun things! Will do it again!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room.

This hotel was the class A+ ellagant stay. The doorman was very welcoming as was the front desk.We visited the Horseshoe casino while there and the only complaint was the walk through the mall to get there from the hotel. The room was spotless and very nice. We would for sure go back to this fine hotel. Service was A+

Room Tip: Ask for a high room, you will have a better view.

I'm biased, since it truly is a home away from home. I've stayed here, literally, hundreds of nights over 20+ years. The service remains wonderful. Rooms are nice. Lobby bar has always been a favorite. Clientele has changed a little with opening of nearby casino, but it is still an excellent hotel. Cleveland's finest.
