“Fun, special family occasion ”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

Seven of us visited around 6pm on a cold Saturday night with a reservation. The server was very polite and able to answer all our questions on the menu. Our orders ranged from meat dishes, giant tortellini, gnocchi, and pizza (flat bread). Everyone cleaned his/her plates. Seven entrees with salads or sides but no drinks ran around $160. I would go back because our meals were delicious. They had a gelato case which I'd like to try on a warmer day.

We parked in a pay lot about one block away which had a lot of spaces.

Thank Leslie C

“Good Food….dingy old and unloved.”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

We went to lunch on Saturday around 1:00 PM. The restaurant had one family in a booth and 4 people at the bar. We were seated in a booth. The restaurant was very cold. The decor was creepy. I've been in many old Italian restaurants, and none of them had the feel of not having been cleaned in years. Anyway, the waitress was doing duty at the bar, but she was very attentive. We each ordered a meal, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmesan. Warning: THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE! Two people could have split both meals. The bread and 3 types of herb butter were terrific. The restaurant remained empty. We both liked our lunches but couldn't possibly eat all of it. We took "to-go" boxes but we were staying at a hotel without refrigerators in the room.

Now, as for the women's bathroom….THE BOARD OF HEALTH SHOULD VISIT SOON. Filthy dirty floor…dirty fake plants….and a space heater sitting on the floor running full blast. To get into the restroom, one has to climb a step and walk a few paces and then down a step to the commode. Don't even think about it if you have a person who can't do steps.

We did not have any ill effects from lunch. I would get take out from them but would not go back and eat in the restaurant.

“Just "OK"!”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

We took our granddaughter, a student at Case Western University, to Anthony's for lunch today. We are new to the Little Italy experience and chose Anthony's at random. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good, but the pasta sauces were way too heavy and under seasoned, and my salmon was literally floating in oil. We will be trying several restaurants in the area, and may or may not go back to Anthonys. Not bad, but not memorable!

“Sometimes less is more!”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Decided to check out Little Italy area and at first was impressed with look of the street dotted with Italian Restaurants. Initially I parked in Guarino's Restaurant as it has a separate car lot but when I went inside there were no diners and it looked a bit gloomy so I moved car to the street and checked out all of the other restaurants on both sides. Only Mia Bella was full on the outside seats and seemed to have a buzz. Admittedly it was Wednesday plus there was a big baseball game on which may have explained the emptiness of most of the restaurants. Anyway I liked the look of Anthony's and took an outside table there. I ordered caprese salad and veal parmigiana - the caprese was not huge but nicely presented and came in a reasonable time but the veal parmigiana took a full 45 minutes despite my enquiries and offer to settle and leave after about 30 minutes. When it came it was a huge 12" plate sized portion of veal smothered in an over-powering rich tomato marinara sauce plus there was a side of spaghetti pasta. Whilst very tasty it was a complete overkill in terms of quantity over quality and looked like a road traffic accident. As is so often the case less would have been more! (ps the long wait was afterwards explained to me by Joanne and Lara as being due to a "large" party of 8 dining inside!).
