I have stayed here on numerous occasions. Service is excellent. If any problems looked after promptly. My experience with staff members, Monica C., Stephani and Nathan was pleasurable. My expectations are met for the price range of hotel. I have stayed in some more expenses places that are much under the standards of this Quality Inn.

Everything you need is here on site from the fitness room to the pool. The staff is very nice and made me feel like I was "at home". -
Stephanie and Nathan went above and beyond their job!
the hotel gets you out of the city noise of Columbus but is close enough by car to do anything you would want to do like go see the ohio state game or to the downtown clubs or resturant.the staff members make you feel at home like your apart of there family but will also respect your privacy and lifestyles.

This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. All of the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The rooms were clean and spacious and everything looks new. You can tell the staff all enjoy what they do, and they go the extra mile to provide great service.

Requested and was charged for a non smoking room. Once off the elevator the hallway was filled with smoke. The entire second floor had a smoke odor. Asked to change room / floor but were sold out. My son has asthma and smoke is a trigger for an asthma attack. Nathan sprayed the hall with a can of "Smoke Out", he even gave me the can to use myself. Went and bought an air purifier at Home Depot. There was a cloud at the end of the hallway filled with smoke. I even wet towels and placed on either side of door. Middle of the night my son had an attack. Went to the emergency room for several hours. Returned to hotel and wanted to check out early. All rooms were sold out in the area for months as the Mopar Nationals car event that we were attending was that weekend. Monica [--] said we would not have to pay for the night that we spent in the hospital but owed for the first night. I thought that was un-acceptable. She then contacted Joy [--] General Manager / Regional Director for Quality Inn & Suites about credit for the one night. Joy said I owed for both nights, wow what empathy and customer service from management. I traveled over one thousand miles each way to attend this once a year event, the 32nd annual Mopar Nationals and had to leave early because of the poor conditions of this hotel. I was not the only one that complained of all the smoke there. Upon gathering my personal items I noticed an empty can of Skoals Smokeless Tobacco and a soft drink lid on the floor on the side of the bed. Find another hotel or sleep in your car before staying at this place. Travelers and Mopar car people you have been warned!

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to comment about your stay at the Quality Inn & Suites Columbus South. I hope you will accept my apologies for any inconvenience you experienced.
I am disappointed we failed to give you the fine accommodations, attention, service and consideration we strive for with all of our guests – the type of service we pride ourselves in. I have investigated your comments and have spoken to the staff. Although we were sold out and did not have the ability to move you to another room, we did offer you the ability to check out without any charge. It is unfortunate that you chose a hotel that was not 100% smoke free and did not let us know upon making the reservation that you had to have a room that was as far away from the smoke as possible to due to having an asthmatic son. We did refund your stay in full, even though you decided to stay the first night and did not check out in the morning and continued your stay through the second night, out of consideration for the problems that you experienced. I understand that the credits to your credit card did took some time to be refunded, but I needed to do a full investigation into the matter.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced during your stay. We appreciate your patronage and hope you will stay with us at the Quality Inn Columbus South, the next time that you are in Columbus, Ohio. I can assure you we will do everything we can to make your stay a comfortable and happy one.

July 7, 2011. Checked in with my family and was shocked to find this hotel in such poor shape, and so poorly operated. It was summer and blazing hot. There was no AC in the upper floor and internal temps were around 90 degrees (F). Upon entering the room (room did have AC, but other rooms did not), there was a stain on one bed. I am not sure what it was, but hope it was a soft drink. Both beds were either not made up, or in reality they appeared like they had been previously made up, but laid upon and were very mussed-up. The bed without the stain had a hole in the sheet. The TV had open access to porn (ch 2), which was a surprise to myself, wife and daughter when I flipped through the channels. We were supposed to stay three nights, but since it was late when we arrived we stayed the first night, with intentions of checking out the next day. I slept on top the covers the first night. Wife and daughter did same. In the lobby men's restroom, the towel dispenser was being held together with duct tape, and was out of towels... the furnishings were dumpy, carpet ragged, and the view was poor.
When we checked out the next morning the girl at the desk (not management) said we would have to pay for the second night since she didn't get 24 hr notice.. she was bound by management's policy and couldn't help us. She did waive the third night. She said we would have to talk to the owner/manager about a refund on our card for the second night (which we were charged for, but did not stay). We called for the manager multiple times while we were visiting Columbus and he successfully avoided us. We continued to try to contact him after we returned home (another state), but his avoidance we easier still and we never did get any satisfaction or refund for the night we did not stay. My only recourse is to write this description of our experience, and recommend strongly that you never stay here. We did move to the Drury Hotel (only $25 more than this dump) and it was terrific! If you stay at this Sleep Inn, watch your back.

We have down a total renovation of the property and have put many changes in place. If you are ever in the area again, please come by and see us. We would love to give you a tour of the newly renovated Qualtiy Inn & Suites. Former Sleep Inn & Suites. We look forward to your return.

This hotel is currently under renovations in the lobby and entrance area, but they need to focus on the rooms. The sink drained extremely slowly, so we informed the front desk who said they would take care of it. Nothing was done, and in the morning we realized the tub drained slow as well. The entire hotel is supposed to be smoke free, but our room smelled terribly like ash trays. We told the front desk and they said "We know, sorry".

Breakfast was cold and had limited options compared to other choice hotels I've stayed in. The comfort inn is a bout 500 feet away. Stay there instead.

The upside to this hotel is that the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly.

Room Tip: Check both drains and if the room smells bad, immediately request a different room. Maybe they'...
