“Exotic....!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

The only home to world's famous one horned Rhino, Kaziranga is on the global tourism map also for the other exotic wild life such as Royal Bengal Tiger (100+), Asiatic Wild Buffalo (around 2000), Asian Elephant (1100+) and Swamp deers that are flourishing here. Additionally, thousands of local and migratory birds make it their home. A jeep safari / Elephant safari is most suitable for tourists to enter this park and witness the wild life in thier own environment.

Best period in my opinion is end Jan - Feb (when park authorities burn the elephant grass and visibility of animals increases). There are a number of accomodation options (for all budgets) available throughout the Kaziranga range but one will do better if the bookings are done in advance as during the season finding proper accomodation becomes a bit difficult. Generally Jeep / Elephant safaries can be arranged through hotel management.

A must visit attraction.

“Wonderful experience”

Wonderful experience. Diphlu River Lodge is the perfect place to stay. Excellent food and accommodation. Very professional drivers and guides who really make the visit. If you are serious about seeing wildlife this is the place to visit. Especially good for a variety of bird life.

“Rhinos and elephants in large numbers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

This is a very special sanctuary for rhinos, elephants and tigers. As in most parks in the region there are also serious problems such as poaching, roads, floods, and security. The future of parks like Kaziranga depends on the government, management and commitment of staff. Overall it was a fantastic visit with plenty to see, but awareness of the issues is also important.

“Indian national park and an UNESCO World Heritage Site”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

It is a tourist destination and conservation area particularly notable as a refuge for the endangered Indian one-horned rhinoceros, hosting the largest population of wild Indian one-horned Rhinoceros in the world. The park contains significant stock of three other large herbivores — the Asian Elephant, the Asiatic Water Buffalo and the eastern subspecies of the Swamp Deer. Kaziranga also has the highest density of tiger in the world and is declared a Tiger Reserve. Kaziranga is recognized as an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International for conservation of avifaunal species. Wildlife watching, including birding is the main activity inside the park. Viewing the scenic landscape of the park with different vegetation types interspersed with numerous beels (wetlands) and the snow covered mountains of Himalayas at a distance constitute other attractions.
