“Lush green beauty of India”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2010

Guwahati is a nice place to visit and travel but not a good place to settle down. I went Guwahati last year in the month of september. The most disappointing thing was the weather of Guwahati that time. It was tooo humid. We were sweating like hell.
Apart from weather, guwahati is a very nice place in term of its natural beauty. Green hills, green gorests, green fields are the major site view of guwahati. Kamakhya temple is also a nice place to visit. We also went on a boatride in river Brahmaputra which was awesome.

“Rockin City!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2009

Guwahati 'The Gateway to the North East' is the biggest city in the entire Northern Region and the Capital of Assam (Dispur). Over the last decades , it has grown from a small town to a large city bustling with business activities and yet maintaining its traditional essence. Being the Gateway city to the NE region, Guwahati is well connected trough air, train and roadways. Guwahati has lot to offer to its visitors from the holy Kamakhya temple to the Mighty Brahmaputra to the Island temple Umananda and of of course the prestigious Cotton college which is over 100 years old. It will be safe to say that Guwahati also provides a hint of the lifestyle of the various Northern Eastern people and their cultures.

in short ," Guwahati Rocks!!!" u won't be disappointed.

“Guwahati Blues”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2008

I just came back from my trip to guwahati. IT was a wonderful experience. Specifically is guwahati town, there are few places to visit like Kamakhya Mandir and hills above that but if you go outside guwahati, you will have lot many things to see in nearby places. One of the best place everyone should visit is KAziranga national park. I booked a room in one of the hotels inside kaziranga and believe me living in the middle of national park and listening to different sounds in the night was an awesum experience. If you want to roam around the national park, you have 2 options to choose from. Either you can book an elephant safari or jeep safari. For, young people I would surely suggest to go for elephant safari to have the real fun. But for older people, I would recommend jeep as it would be more comfortable for them. This is the best place to visit there and I spent my maximum time in Kaziranga.
