Overall Tirthan is a place to relax and njoy the beauty....people who r fed up wid crowd , noise and pollution should go there and will really love the serenic view with the pleasant weather....

We stayed in Nagini Village at Khem but were totally disappointed with his behaviour, room and food. Then one day we went to Himalayan Trout house which is just 100m away.. and tried some dishes....wel it is really good... felt so good after having the first bite... Though its expensive but should try out the food u will actually find taste in food...

I with my family visited this place in March 2013. Christopher and Shefali helped us right from the planning stage. The cottages were very cosy. We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. The staff is also very helpful. We were updated regularly about the weather so we were not caught unawares when it rained 1 day. The food which was made as per our taste was very good. Would love visiting again...

i stayed with my family for 4 days in April 14 , the property is superb, and the credit goes to Christopher, the story teller and Shefali, the home maker , the rooms are clean, spacious , and filled with sunlight , the surroundings are serene. Here i will like to add a word for the Food , as it is a remote place you cant expect much but both christopher n shefali try their level best to provide good food to their guests even they go out of their way for this ,but the taste is far less than satisfactory they should look into it food can be simple but tasty but their food is simple with no taste , it is the only their negative point , otherwise it is a perfect place to spend your vacations and a paradise if you are fishing zealot.

One of best places in Himachal, where solitude seeking individuals would love to spend time. It is also a place where extroverts can find their groove. The owners (Christopher & Shefali) are the best when it comes to servicing guests from making sure food is perfect to regaling you with stories.

Amazing food - yeah its on overused expression, but i couldn't find any other except AWESOME, which i guess is used more.

All 5 of us who were there, will return soon for sure. the place wasn't that attractive but it is always the people who make your travels worthwhile

The Himalayn Trout House is one of the hidden gems in Himachal Pradesh. Me and My wife have stayed there for 3 days in June, 2013. We have got amazed by the beauty of Tirthan River and its surrounding by the untouched beauty of the hills, wildlife, fruit orchards and waterfall. This is one of the most beautiful rivers I have ever come across in my life.
The Trout House is situated just beside the River, and you just need to cross a small road to reach the riverside. The atmosphere is very pleasant and charming. Fishing is another major attraction in this place. We have stayed in Stone Cottage, though it is bit expensive for its kind; still worth for having such luxury in an isolated place like Nagini. Only con I have felt, the food is bit expensive. Otherwise everything else is simply awesome.

We stayed at the Himalayan Trout House with my two little daughters last year in Oct 2012 and we fell in love with the place. Mornings we would go for walks, evenings were spent at the property chatting with Christopher and Shefali who own the place, and eating Shefali's personally supervised yummy food.... specially the wood fired pizzas! The atmosphere at the Trout house is very friendly and relaxed and Shefali took great care in making us all feel comfortable. We went for fishing in the river that flows right across the property, and then went for a trek to the one of the most amazing waterfalls..... that is a must visit for everyone who goes there. The rooms are basic but very clean and of decent size, we spent most of our time outside either hanging around in the dining area where all guests just sit, relax, and chat or going for walks in the valley. The kids totally loved the place and infact want to go there every year!

Quiet far away from the nearest junction Aut, takes 900 bucks and 26 odd kms. the weather was quiet hot so if your looking to cool off your heals there are many other places in himachal. the rooms for 1700/day were like a 500 rupee shack & for the same price if moved to a rooom it was quiet dingy with no windows. the food is quiet expensive at 400 bucks for 2 pieces of chicken n a lil salad. perhaps just good for fishing cause thats what most ppl here were doing. did not live upto my expectations at all. the host christopher is quiet sweet tho.
