Great Staff! Large rooms. Very relaxing. I love the fact that they provide a refrigerator and coffee maker! I can think of nowhere in Ohio with such a great lakefront hotel! Must stay here at least once! Cannot wait to return July 4th and 5th!!!

Room Tip: Read the description of the room. Limited lake view, is a limited lake view. You get the room you...

Visited in January and again in June. Great both times but have to admit June was more fun in that you could take advantage of the great areas to walk along the lake and into town. The wineries in the area are fun and taking the lodge's wine shuttle makes it very relaxing to leave the driving to someone else. We were with a crazy bunch of women who made the trip even more enjoyable!

My family and I highly recommend the Lodge as a weekend adventure. It is a beautiful hotel on Lake Erie and the Wine Shuttle makes visiting the local wineries a worry free experience. Our room was clean, the staff was professional and our stay was fun and relaxing,

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony facing Lake Erie as you can't beat the view.

I arrived having reserved a room with a balcony and having a lake view. Initially, I was given a room with a parking lot view. When I asked for a different room, I was given one in which I had to go outside to one end of the balcony and look around the corner to see a slight view of the lake. I asked for another room more to what I requested and was told there were none that actually faced the lake; that they were all partial views. I settled for one with about half view of lake and half of trees and grounds. When I walked around the building I notice another wing where the rooms faced the lake squarely. Not sure why this was such an issue for them as the hotel did not appear to be fully booked. I was given free breakfast coupons for the difficulty. The room itself was clean. The bathtub had about a 1 inch circle where the acrylic was worn off. Some attention to this would help as it gives a run down appearance. The balcony needed some attention - the windows were dirty and there was cigarette butts laying around (I do not smoke). On the whole, the hotel is attractive and the grounds seem to be kept well.

Room Tip: If you want a room that looks directly out on the lake, you will need to make that explicitly clear.

For the cost, this was a good overnight option compared to some of the other hotels I have stayed at. The price in June was a little high for the area, but ok. This was a business trip so I can’t really state the value for a family vacation, I did not comment on children’s TV selections or ability to watch YouTube videos (or other kid friendly stuff). The front desk staff was very cordial and professional every time I interacted with them.

Overall the hotel room and bathroom were very clean and made for a comfortable overnight stay. Great quality and fluffy towels and a clean smelling bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable. The hotel Wi-Fi was free (decent signal strength and upload/download speeds), the TV had good choices of channels and the desk gave me adequate room to work; great hotel room.

I had a drink in the hotel bar, the staff warmed up as the time went on, but the drinks were an ok value for the price. The next morning I ate in the restaurant; the only option was the buffet. The quality of the food was ok, the exception being the breads and the bacon (excellent quality). I would have preferred to order from a menu rather than a buffet. The buffer would have been better if there was an omelet station or service that allowed for fresh cooked eggs (like at an Embassy Suites). The service in the restaurant was outstanding, the overall selection of food and level of food quality was average. I am being very critical and honest of the restaurant in my evaluation, but I did walk away with a full stomach and I did not get sick. I would definitely eat here again (can’t be said for many other hotels I have stayed at).

While the views outside the hotel seem terrific, the hotel could use a better walking and lunging area at the back of the hotel that would allow guests to walk out to the lake would make for a better experience. Sunset on the lake was a pretty cool sight from inside the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a business trip.

Room Tip: First floor had a nice balcony

I was there for a wedding and it was gorgeous. The view was just breath taking. Rooms were a little pricey but everything was clean and staff very friendly. Food we had was catered food and it was okay. The bar was very nice and well staffed. Nice gift store and check in and out was a breeze. It is not automatic check out like most hotels so you have to remember to stop at desk to check out.

The Lodge in Geneva is an awesome place to stay while in Ohio's wine country. My wife and I try to stay there a couple of times a year. The place is quiet, clean, and cozy. Great food and bar, clean and quiet rooms. VERY affordable when compared to other places we typically stay at. You are only a few miles from all of the local winerys. Have recommended this place to many of our friends.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room, no need to worry.
