We went to this place because of recommendations on various tourist sites.

As mentioned elsewhere, the hygiene is poor.

We decided to just sample the jalebis since it was supposed to be their special dish. When we entered, we saw the jalebis being made near the entrance area. When we stepped in, the place was too crowded. The tables were not clean. The waiters seem to be only running around.

There was no queue at the coupon counter. We were told to take the coupon first and then occupy the tables and give it to the waiter.

After about 10 minutes at the counter, I managed to get my coupon. We ordered just one plate of jalebis. It came with 4 pieces. Not too exciting to look at.

Judgement: We have had much better jalebis at other places.

This is an avoidable place. Do not travel to this place just for visiting it. But if you in police bazaar area, then maybe you can pass by it.

We ended up in this restaurant per chance when we were looking for a place for breakfast. They have good samosas and pooris. I did not care much for the dhokla and tea though. Yes, they can improve on the hygiene front but then, you will remove a pretty big selection of restaurants in India. They have great Bengali sweets. And they are open early enough that you can have breakfast. Come to think of it, we were right next to Assam and the tea was always pathetic.

Average place but that rasmalai was fantastic .. Rs. 40 for one plate rasmalai (2 pieces) .. staff not so good .. you have to pay first and then wait for the waiter to get your food .. I just visited the ground floor section of the restaurant ..

Must visit for its Jalebi, Papri Chat and tea. They also have delicious sweets. Century old ambience and furniture. Also, I think the utensils are not cleaned properly but then, I really don't care about it. I am immune to such things.

Its the place to visit when you cannot decide where to eat.
