Main Attraction of The Khasi village is it's cleanness. If you visit there you could see how they are living, how they make clean there village and above all the villagers are so friendly.....

Visited Shillong in last week of March 2014. Firstly the place is remote with virtually no directions to reach it. Asking the locals did not help as they too were oblivious. Taxy and local businesses too weren't helpful.
The place itself is as yet incomplete and is still under construction. Access to the spot is terrible. The lone guard at the venue stated that the village was not ready but was willing to let us in for Rs 30 each!
Site under construction. An amphitheater and museum are coming up. A few thatched huts are also visible.
Overall not worth visiting unless the project is completed and is formally launched.

Awesome place to see as the title says - It shows you the real life of the Khasi's how they live. Also to take the real feel of the same - It's better to stay there one day - Local Khasi Food is simply awesome and a must try - You are just gonna love it. Villages are really clean as well compared to any other place in India or Across Asia.

This is by far, the best thing to have come out of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC). The initiative aims at displaying all the different Himas of the Khasis in one single location. The space is plentiful and is located justificably opposite of the Mawphlang Sacred Groves, the symbol of Khasi culture that has withstood thousands of years. There are 10 huts displaying the different habitations of each of the 10 khasi himas, a small museum showing photos of places, implements, attire, etc and an ampitheatre to seat quite a few people. Now all those who do not understand the importance of the groves and feel that there is not much to see at the Mawphlang Sacred Groves because they do not want to shell out 150 rupees an hour to the local guide to take them for a walk inside the groves and explain khasi culture, can atleast visit the Khasi Heritage Village located opposite the groves.
