“Very well equipped spacious house”
Reviewed 28 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We have recently returned from a weeks stay at this property. We were a family group ranging in age from 73 to 15 and the property was very suitable for all ages. The kitchen is very well equipped for large parties with two dishwashers and a very large oven/ hob. There is also a good sized fridge with another fridge for drinks upstairs next to the pool.
The garden is great for meals outside and is very private even though it faces on to the road ( a very quiet road). The pool area is very sunny and there were lots of loungers/ seats. It is also a lovely area for evening drinks. The pool is adequate but not particularly big- suitable for playing rather than swimming. The pool table and dart board provided lots of entertainment for the teenagers.
Siran is a very pretty village with basic local amenities. There is lots to do in the area including sightseeing, kyaking, cycling, hiking. We visited the market in Narbonne on Sunday morning a purchased fish for the BBQ and vegetables and fruit at very good prices.
Overall we spent a very enjoyable week at this spacious and well equipped property.

Dear Matthieu,
I am sorry that the electricity tripped and that you and your young children were so cold. We don’t often rent the house in the Winter but if we do we warn the guests in advance that it is a big house , largely unused in Winter and that it has no central heating just with open fires , wood burner and electric heaters. IN YOUR CASE I NOTICED BEFORE YOU MADE THE BOOKING THAT YOU HAVE VERY YOUNG BABIES , SO I ACTUALLY CALLED FRIEND (Maud I think) IN FRANCE TO TELL HER . I explained exactly the situation to her as I thought you might not want to book the house in these circumstances. It seems that you did not get this message.
Nick did buy logs, put heated in in advance for you but as warned it is a large house which is not heated throughout the year.
I’m sorry that maybe you did not get this message passed on to you and that you were unprepared and unused to building fires for heating.
I am frustrated that despite making a call to France specifically to make your party fully aware of the heating in our house that this has happened but I am glad to hear from Maud that despite this you enjoyed the stay and the house.

Maud, I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the house and Nick’s decorations, despite the cold! . I would also like to point out that I specifically called you in France to tell you exactly what heating is available in the house because I was worried about it as your party have 4 small babies. I am sorry that in spite of my warning it was so cold. Nick did put the heating on specially in advance but clearly it is not the same as a house which is centrally heated and heated throughout the year. You are right it is great in the Summer but we have had our most enjoyable holidays in Autumn and Spring and enjoy having the open fires .
