““Excellent holiday at Aquis Silva Beach !!””
Reviewed 20 June 2010

We spent a week at this hotel from 22/05/2010 - 31/05/2010. Already the 7th time we stayed in this hotel and still the BEST place to be. Creta became our second home and the main reason is the warm welcome at Aquis Silva Beach. After the recent refubishment, this typical Greek style hotel satisfies all you needs. The rooms are very clean and well decorated! The food was excellent and also the drinks at meals were great, beer, wine, soft drinks,etc.... Although the staff was very busy, they always took the time to have a friendly talk. New is the Spa Resort where you have a lot of possibities to have a relaxing stay. Certainly well worth the money we paid to stay there. Thank you so much Aquis Silva Beach, we will be back next May... We really recomend this hotel, so do not hesitate and visit it. Simply the BEST!!!:)

We are almost 3 weeks back in Belgium after 17th beautiful days in Aquis Silva Beach.
The hotel is build in a very nice Greek style.... the renovation of it is 'waw'… the reception and the bars are very nice & trendy, the rooms inside are modern & practical.
We also visit the new Sushi restaurant & Olives Tree restaurant... the same comments : very nice places with very good menu's and very friendly peoples.
The Spa was a nice surprise .. we had a great time in the Jacuzzi.
The staff of the restaurant / the bar / the reception / Spa... were one for one very friendly & helpfully.
So a big thanks to Haroula, Stella, Nikos, Lefteris, George, Christina, Kostas, Zoi, Perris, Judith and all the others!!!!
You see us back next year!!

1. The village-like layout, with the buildings scattered on several acres (4-6 I would guess) of a slope and numerous passages and alleys in between isn’t just pleasant for your eye. I was curious first, but now I’m sure we would not benefit as much from our 2-week vacation, if we stayed in a monobloc squeezed into 800 square meters, as it is the case sometimes. The reception serves as a gate between a noisy and lively high street and what Hersonissos had to look like a hundred years ago. I assure you this climate makes a difference and will have a significant influence on the quality of your holiday.

2. Renovated rooms resemble 3-4 star city hotels and offer what you could reasonably expect. Some brochures mention one of the big and clean pools is 3 meters deep; it is not true any longer, they both go down to mere ca. 1,4 meters. The beach is “poor”.

3. I do not understand people complaining about food being repetitive – do you expect the chef to come up with a completely different set of 50 dishes every day in two week cycles? I’m sure the variety of dishes has been much bigger most of us have at home. In our humble opinion we were fed very well, at least better than in most of similar hotels I’ve been to.

4. The AI package is a serious advantage here – I could get intoxicated drinking good branded whisky and gin for two weeks, while the local Egyptian, Turkish or Tunesian perfume you get elsewhere usually has nothing in common with those noble alcohols. Additionally, liquers like Bailey’s, Amaretto or Kahlua are included, and this is a real treat.

5. For the first half of June the hotel was occupied in 60 - 70%, which meant: no problems with the sun beds, many of which remained free throughout the day, and no queues to the bars. Hard to say what will it look like with occupancy near 100%, but from what it seems, they have learned their “being understaffed” lesson from May.
6. Most members of the international staff are very sympathethic and friendly, most of them are efficient and robust in what they do. Kostas, the main barman, is a star here, insisting his job is a pleasure for him.

7. Magda, the animator, is also a star, being a highly energetic person who seems to enjoy interacting with all the guests sometimes throughout the whole day. Not that I could say anything bad about Simone, the other animator, he does a great deal as well; but Magda is a natural talent, and besides being a professional in her fitness and aerobic stuff, I think the reason she has been mentioned so warmly many times before is the hundreds of chats she has every day. With 2 animators for such a crowd do not expect to be bothered to often, but, again, it seems the clientele values the peace and quiet and doesn’t want to be bothered.

8. The ‘no kids’ formula definitely makes it different, namely more peaceful and quiet.

In simple words: this is place is highly recommended and currently seems a great value for the money.

I was really surprised when I entered to the hotel, from the front it look like a small hotel but inside you will find 2 swimingpools. One of them is 25m long, there are 3 bars, 2 restaurant . Hotel is situated next to the sea, below restaurant starts promenade with a beautiful view on the city. Rooms are cleaned every day, whole stuff speak english.
I really glad that i choose this hotel.

We spent 6 nights at this hotel at the end of May. We booked this as a last minute deal and it was everything we wanted! We were impressed by the room - newly refurbished, extremely clean, well laid out with comfortable beds. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere and relaxed feel - we were made welcome by everyone including the maids. We were lucky in that we went in a quiet week where the hotel was initially probably only 50% occupied. It did get more busy as the week went on, but the service remained the same. Our room had an adjoining door to the next room which only became a problem when someone noisy moved in next door. We only had to mention this at reception and they immediately offered us a different room which was HUGE with a larger bathroom. The food was generally as expected - lots of fresh salads though and the Greek night barbeque was excellent.
The animation staff were also excellent. I was particularly impressed by the standard of the aqua aerobics session! Overall we had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to recommend.

My partner and I are in our very early 20s and wanted a special holiday together. We initially picked Aquis Silva Beach through Thomas cook due to excellent value for money for a four star all inclusive package.

The food was absolutely fantastic, and catered for all tastes. There was always the ‘safe’ option of chips and vegetables for those who are a little less adventurous. The restaurant held special theme nights – Greek, Italian, International, Asian, etc. These provided a huge variety of food, meaning that meal times were never repetitive. We enjoyed every meal, there was always one dish that you’d just have to go back and get more of!

The staff were fantastic – they were polite, full of character, and soon became on friendly terms with the guests. We were always made to feel incredibly welcome by every member of staff, including the chef who was often seen walking around the restaurant looking proud of himself (and rightly so!).

The reception staff were particularly useful, especially when dealing with our incompetence, and also with an important medical issue.

We found our room to be very clean and comfortable, and had a very good view by the large pool.

The location of the hotel could not be better; the sea is a few steps away with a small shingle beach, and there is also a large sandy beach a few minutes away. The hotel is situated on the main road that runs through Hersonissos, which puts an endless amount of shops and bars at your doorstep. We also found that our hotel is a major pickup point for a lot of excursions which proved to be invaluable.

We found that the hotel seemed to be a sophisticated refuge from the lively town, and we also appreciated the fact that it is a child-free zone!

To conclude, I would strongly recommend this hotel, or any other Aquis resort – the whole experience was high quality and although we had bad experiences with our rep and some medical issues, we never found a problem with the hotel.
