we have just returned from The Grand Hotel. This was our 3rd visit to this wonderful hotel. On our 2011 & 2012 visits we were so impressed & would have said it was our best holidays ever.
However this year it was even better. they have added a great water slide area & made improvements to the pool bar which is now much bigger.
As always the staff were friendly ,courteous & efficient.
the animation team are amazing
the grounds, rooms, pools etc were immaculate.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful hotel to anyone.
thank you to the staff in ALL departments for making our holiday so wonderful again

Room Tip: If you wish to be closer to activities I would recommend you ask for lower number room. I would also say that a trip to Spinalonga Island is a must.

Just back from a fab 2 weeks at The Grand Hotel well worth a visit, the hotel is clean, food and drinks good and lots of choice!! The staff could not do enough for you- Tasmia and Anna in the Main Pool Bar, Luca, Lindsay, Victoria and all the others at the animation team are always on the go and will pass the time of day with you. George and all the staff in the Main restaurant too many people to mention - make the Grand a great place to visit. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back again one day.

Room Tip: Lower numbers below 1000 - email hotel privately several times if need be to request this as it's a very steep hill

Everething was perfect , I'd like to return to this resort.
The room was clean and big enough for two adults and one child. Aniway we didn't spent to much time inside.
The food was tasty and diverse. Good Cretan wine.
Nice open shows in the theatre.
The mini-water park was great and not crowded.
Very good service and staff.
Aegean restaurant is good to try.
Overall , excellent !

We stayed at the Grand for two weeks. We had booked a family room on a halfboard basis. Upon arrival we were told there were no family rooms available, and we were given a normal room with two extra beds. After three days we were able to switch rooms. To compensate for this we had been upgraded to all inclusive.
The food in the hotel is good and plentiful. We arrived after midnight and they had even prepared a cold plate for us, which was very welcome. The hotel staff is very friendly. Overall the hotel is very clean and well maintained and surrounded by a nice garden. The pools are good and the waterslides are well organised. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which is handy.
The wifi network is payable and is very weak and frequently out of service.

Room Tip: The hotel is built against a hill. Ask for a room number below 1000 if you don't like to climb. They do however have a shuttle that will run you up the hill.

Hotel
Complex: extremely clean and very well maintained, we had a room overlooking the sea and the main pool, however I would not like to stay in the rooms up the back as it is extremely hilly. Request a room by the main pool or relaxing pool. There were always lots of sun beds available at anytime of the day.

Outdoor pools.
There were plenty of pools to chose from, we mainly used the main pool area, and it was the cleanest pool we have ever seen. Although it was a little cold as we went in May, it would be lovely during the summer months.

Spa and indoor pool
2 of the days we had there it was a little cold for our 2 year old to use the outdoor pools, so we used the indoor heated pool, it was warmer than the outside pool so perfect for us, HOWEVER, the main guy that worked on the desk in the spa was the rudest man I have ever met, he told our 2 year old to be quiet, and said she wasn't to make any noise as it may upset other holiday makers. This really spoiled our time in the pool, so we had to wait until 6pm every day until the man finished work to use it! The main reason we chose this hotel was because it had a heated pool, and the fact that he said we had to be silent whilst using it was ridiculous !!!!

Food
This is by far one of the nicest hotel for food. It was amazing lots of variety, never got fed up of he food, nothing bad to say about the food. The only thing is, we stayed all inclusive, but the pool bar by the main pool wouldn't serve all inclusive guests food or drinks, you had to pay!!!! If you wanted a snack, burger etc you had to walk up many hills to get there, and I mean a lot of hills!

Rooms:
A little disappointed with the standard of the rooms, these are not 4 star. Could do with updating. Saying that we didn't spend much time in the room

Mini club:
This was awful :( the facilities were terrible. Just a big open grass area, could have done with at least a swing!!! And only 1 girl working in the club, could have done with more.

Animation team- they were brilliant, very friendly, the night entertainment put on by the team was brilliant, had mini disco every night which my daughter loved. Day entertainment was also brilliant, music around the pool and lots of activities.

Ala carte restaurant you get to use this once during your stay, and this was well worth it. The restaurant was amazing looked like a 5* restaurant. Food was fancy but lovely. They also served what ever my daughter wanted.

Location- wasn't much around the hotel, 20 min walk to stalis but nothing much down there, but as there was so much going on in the hotel it didn't bother us to much. Beach is 5 min walk and it was lovely, there was also a park on there for children.

Overall we would definitely go back here, a top class hotel.

Room Tip: Request sea view room or a room near main pool
