Went on holiday from June 19th-29th to Crete and stayed here at the Mediterraneo hotel. It was all inclusive for a good price I went with my partner and we are not particularly fussy eaters and there was always something for us to eat from the buffet. It was relatively close to Hersonissos town/strip, easily walkable in the evenings but definitely not in midday heat at 34-37 degrees! We quite liked the fact the hotel was slightly set away from the centre of town as it made the surrounding area very quiet at night which was great but it was still close enough to go out if you wanted to. We spent most of our time at the more lively pool with the pool bar, the only downside was that it was salt water but that wasn't too much of an issue of us. The best part of our holiday was definitely spending time at the pool bar in the evenings and into the night. Aurieli and Nikos were great bar staff and always made us feel welcome. Some nights we would stay up until 4am just chatting to them and drinking!
It was such a great a holiday and we would love to return!

Booked our family holiday and we ended up in what I could call an isolated holiday resort. Our travel agent told us there were Europeans at this resort. This was an understatement. In the two weeks we were there there was 4 British family's. Also the food was far too European. If you you have kids they won't eat the food. There was chips on the menu 3 times in two weeks. This made us dread going to the dining room. For example there was rabbit on the menu boned and stewed. I am far from a fussy eater being a chef but to say the food was produced on a budget was an understatement, also all inclusive was local beer and wine. The beer was drinkable the wine wasn't. Entertainment was only ever Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I reckon if you speak German, Russian, Dutch, Polish then you're doing alright and like very poor European food then this is the place for you. On the other hand as everyone says the staff are friendly & the hotel is clean.

Pros
+ Very nice, friendly and service minded staff!
+ The all inc food is excellent and contains Greek traiditional dishes each lunch and dinner.
+ Very good cleaning.
+ Nice rooms (pretty modern and fresh).
+ Nice and original evening shows (among them we watched a spectacular dance show with light and fire).
+ The poolwater is fresh (purified with salt).
+ There is wifi in the lobby (allthough the speed and stability is not the best).
+ The all inc beer is not the best, but anyway it tastes good in the hot climate.
+ Nice minimarket with decent prices at hotel area.

Cons
- Long way to Star Beach, especially for children. For the closer and calmer alternative Romantica Beach (below hotel "Romantica Beach Villas") you have to cross a heavily trafficked road. Romantica Beach is very nice though, and worth the effort of crossing the road.
- Pretty far from Herssonisos City (though with the all inc you do not really need to go there). However, you might feel somewhat stucked unless you rent a vehicle.
- Guests put towels on sun beds before going breakfast. Impossible to get a sunbed, unless you are "towel marking" before breakfast.
- Hard to order beer and wine during the (all inc) dinner during rush hour, because staff are too few.
- All inc does not span over the whole day. (The kids could not get ice cream during certain periods during the day)
- The all inc water is taken from the municipal water system and does taste awfully bad of chlorine. I made a remark to a bartender who said "This is what we all are drinking". That may be true, but it does not help with the chlorine bouquet.
- The all inc wine tastes like budget wine. The rosé was the lesser of the evils.
- The coffee is not worth to be called by name. I was thinking about making our own Nescafé with the hot chlorine water (arranged for tea), but gave up the idea when thinking about the trouble and chlorine.
- The dinner room is very loud and messy and is not relaxing at all. But that can of course be expected at many all incs.
- The wifi is unstable and slow.
- Hard pillows (They made my ears ache).

Conclusion
If you like all incs, have children who can walk to a far away beach and are willing to rent a vehicle, then this is the place for you! If you are a couple who likes calm days and a nice romantic dinners, you should not go here.

We spent our holidays for the third time in this hotel, this time for 10 days. And it was very lovely again. The staff is very friendly and helpful, not only in the reception, but also in the restaurant, the bar and the poolbar. The hotel is very clean and so are the rooms. This year they had new beds, so we slept like babies :)

The hotel has an all inclusive formula. The buffet is presented in small portions that are refreshed all the time during the diner, or lunch or breakfast. There is a great choice of food: every meal there is a choice of fish, meat, potatoes, pastas and vegetables, but also Greek dishes. There is a nice salad bar and always fresh fruit available and in the evening lovely little desserts. and there is always ice cream. And if you take the price into consideration, you get a lot of value for your money. The hotel is nicely situated near Chersonissos, but also Stalis, Mahlia are within reasonable distance. There is also free wifi service. We will certainly come back!

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the area where there is animation have more noise, but the complex is very varied and there are quiet corners on the right hand side of the hotel.
