Small outdoor museum, worth a visit especially if you are interested in history. Don't think children would enjoy a visit. As I am interested in history, I really liked it, but my boyfriend not so much. There were couples around their 50s and they really liked it.
Recommend, if you want to know and see more than just relax by the beach.

A very interesting place. Quite small in size but plenty to see. Staff are very helpful and although it cost 6 euros to enter the museum the exhibits and buildings are kept in immaculate condition which makes the attraction good value.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the open air museum. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff at the entrance who gave us some information and offered us an audio guide and maps. We then took our time making our way round the grounds and buildings. It was fascinating to see how Crete was in the past and compare it to our similar museums in the UK. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, and it was altogether a lovely way to spend a few hours. Also an important thing to mention is the heat. Don't be put off by the sun, there's plenty of shady spots and a nice cafe to cool off and relax!

I expected more after all praising reviews. The museum is cosy and can be informative, but there is one problem - it's opened from
9 till 2 p.m. Just imagine how hot it is to walk in it at noon! I was prepared to see more and listen with interest, as well as my mother and son. But after 10 min at heat we got tired and bored. I payed 18 euros and hurried to the exit after 30 min. Wish We were at the beach or near the pool then.
If you are a great museum lover and don't mind sweating watching the stuff, then it's a good choice for you. I wouldn't go specially there.
