The oysters and Pappagiannakos retsina is a must. Then we assume that you can choose just about anything. It's all top notch here

“A nice restaurant, if you are on a diet...”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Thalassaki is a stylish restaurant located in a very nice and traditional local port of Isternia at Tinos island. About the food, unfortunately all portions were very small. Also the bread was not fresh, we asked to replace it but the stuff told us that they didn't have another to offer us. The portions of the first dishes were very small and overpriced. We must also mention that the stuff was not friendly. The surprise was the dessert. It was very nice and tasty, you must try it. The free wine at the end (comes with the bill) was somehow mixed with water(?). Salads were really poor and untasty, definetely below our expectations -they could do better!

“Tasteful but non polite”
Reviewed 25 July 2014 via mobile

Having visited thalassaki for the first time, it's true. The tastes are amazing, more than expected. Of course prices are quite high but you buy exactly what you get. Greek tastes blended with high presentation and quality driving thalassaki to one of the best places in Tinos.

The environment is simple, almost by the sea, non exaggerating, exactly what you expect.

The only disappointing issue is that the personnel is quite impolite. They don't try to drive you in certain choices but just listening and quickly noting your choice. During the order, we tried to make questions but the waiter seemed a bit annoyed of our delay. Being from Tinos and visiting the island every summer we were expecting this magic behavior of people that makes you feel very welcome and part of their family. Surprisingly the behavior had something of the one you face in famous Athens restaurants making you feel that you do not need to deposit a large amount of money on this restaurant, no matter the quality. In the end, Tinos is well known for its high quality food and polite people whenever you go.
Do not make the mistake of not booking a table. It would be worse.. There is space for improvement there.

“simply Amazing”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We travelled from Syros to Tinos just for lunch. Well worth it! I think it is the best food I have had in the Cyclades so far!
The setting is amazing, the tastes are fresh and very original and the service friendly and polite. it is so close to the sea that you might expect to get your feet wet if the sea is wavy! I believe that it does offer value for money.

“Typical tavern on the water”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

Location is very nice, looking onto water. The place itself is a typical greek tavern. Service is good and food is excellent. Fresh fish and tasty vegetables. We only went for lunch so we dodn't eat much but everything was excellent.
