Apparently the campground was closed for the season when we arrived on a hot mid-October day; however, they welcomed us and showed us a nice spot for the tent and the location of the bathroom and shower. (Not exactly "roughing it.") Seems to be a husband/wife/son team and all stopped by for a quick chat to say hi and were helpful with info (esp on bus schedules) about getting around the island. We were offered cookies and chocolates in the morning as we woke up and the proprietress was walking nearby. Really gracious hospitality and a wonderfully affordable option. The campground has somewhat of a backyard feel, with pathways, potted plants, picnic tables, and lots of flowers and trees. And lots of cute kitties, a couple dogs (fenced off), and chickens. Very charming and peaceful. All this and only a 5 min walk from the town center. Would recommend this to anyone who likes to camp (the bungalows looked nice too), although perhaps a good idea to contact 1st if it isn't tourist season.
