“Very pleasant”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

We are a family of 4 (6 year old girl and 4 year old boy) and we had a very pleasant time at Akti Aegeou. We had a one bedroom apartment with view on the pool and the sea. The room was clean and spacious enough.

We never had problems with noise, even when there was a wedding reception outside our balcony. There was loud music but it did not keep us or the children from sleeping.

The beach is fantastic, ideal for little kids. The staff also makes an effort to keep the beach clean, which is great. They have ashtrays and trash cans and they empty them daily. Unfortunately there are still people that leave their cigarette butts on the sand. The pool is also great for the kids.

We tried the restaurant a couple of times and we were very happy with the food.

Trying to find something that could be improved, I would say that the kitchen equipment in the room could use some update. Little things like a large bread knife would be useful, but if you ask for one they will provide.

Overall a very pleasant stay, great location, clean, quiet and relaxing, no fancy stuff and very reasonable prices. If I ever go back to Tinos, I know where to stay.

We spent 7 nights at the Aktiin a 2 room appartment at 75 Euros per night

The hotel is approx 5 kms from the port to Laouti Beach taxi cost 8 euros

We had an 1st floor apartment room for 3 persons, the main bedroom was a good size and the living area with additional bed was exceptionally spacious,.

The air conditioning in the bedroom was not working but this did not present as problem as the the unit in the living area was powerful enough to handle both rooms

The bedroom unit was replaced after 3 days.

This hotel was very comfortable, is situated on the beach front and has a lovely large saltwater swimming pool. The beach lounges and umbrellas are free to use.

The lounges around the pool area were good but needed some cushions to make them more comfortable.

The hotel has a restaurant and we found the food good at reasonable prices. The breakfast was adequate for the 5 euros charged.

There is another restaurant 200 metres along the beach front which is open all day and night which has good food at good prices and good service.

There are 2 small mini markets about 15 minute walk up hill from the hotel and 10 minutes downhill and a bus stop nearby.

There are also some good restaurants at the Tinos port an its worth the taxi ride to try them also.

The service from the Hotel was excellent the staff speak good English and we would definitely recommend the Hotel as one where a quiet relaxing beach holiday is required.

We stay for 3 nights in this hotel. Price reasonable for this hotel. Although swimming pool, pool bar and almost all facilities except breakfast were shut this period, location of the hotel was the best in the island. Just next to a sandy beach. From room you could see and hear the waves hitting the rocks. Big parking in the hotel, rooms very clean.

Room Tip: u need a car to go to this hotel, about 7 kms from port but roads very good. rent a car from dimitr...

Quiet complex of two storey houses, not far from the harbor and next to one of the best beaches of the island, Aghios Ioannis.

Despite the house congestion in the neighborhood, the hotel provides a huge parking lot where you can leave your car conveniently.

The price of 100 euro per two room apartment can be considered reasonable for the month of July and for a middle class family of 4 people.

The apartments are spacious, simple traditional style, clean with basic amenities and a small kitchenette.

The restaurant looks nice next to a small swimming pool overlooking the sea and some palm trees. . Unfortunately, they do not open for breakfast before.. 8:30 in the morning, and if you happen to wake up early you must wait, since there is no other option around even for a cup of coffee. Food is very average, however the place is convenient if you want to take a bite after swimming. Luckily, there is also another beach restaurant 200m away with much better food and prices.

There are several sets of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, placed uncomfortably too close to each together, for reasons I could not understand. You better go there early in order to reserve one. The water is of course crystal clear as everywhere in Cyclades, and the beach faces soutwards to Mykonos and Delos, protected from the meltemi, the strong seasonal summer northern wind.

We spent 4 nights here in a sea view studio and were sorry to leave. We were staying on Syros but decided to visit Tinos for a change of scenery, the islands are very different. We booked directly on the internet and received prompt replies from Ageliki. Despite very few British using this property the staff speak good English and we found Thekla on reception very helpful. The location is great, right on the beach with views of Mykonos Town in the distance. Its in an area generally known as Porto. This is one of very few places with a pool in this area and the whole complex is spotless and well maintained. We bought our rented car over from Syros and ate out in Tinos Town in the evenings. Lunches were on our balcony with that fantastic view. Agree with the previous post re. Pyrgos, beautiful Greek village that matches the lovely Lefkes on Paros. We also had a fish lunch by the harbour in Panormos, just great ! It was very quiet here in June and we were told the sunbeds were free for guests, most were being used by non residents but no money was ever collected, maybe different in July & August. Would definately stay here again.

We are a family of 4 our sons are 18 & 12 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay for 7 nights, that good we didnt want to come home. The apartments are clean & spacious, staff speak english & are helpful & friendly. Pool is salt water but warm, clean & chlorinated, poolside bar is open 10 till 8pm. The beach is 10 metres from pool, there is a 5 Euro charge for 2 reclining sun loungers and a parasol on the beach, Mario the attendant will bring you drinks etc if you ask nicely. The restaurant staff are very friendly and look after you, lots of Greek choices like Mousaka 8.5€, stuffed Auberjenes 7.5€, stuffed peppers 7€ also pasta (spag bog, carbonara) 6.5€, meat dishes like lamb, pork and veal 9€, sea food 10€ and much more. Amstel, Heiniken, Corona (pint bottles) 2.5€, cold drinks & ice creams 1.5€. This resort will suit you if you want a peaceful relaxing holiday, no fish and chips and english breakfasts here, thank goodness. Breakfast choices are basic but different, ham & cheese toasties, crusty bread toasted with butter & honey or my favourite grapes in a sweet syrup, yummy beats jam any day! Fresh squeezed orange juice, wow. There are 2 mini marts 200 & 400 mts up the hill for your basics like bread, eggs, milk, beer, fruit/veg, cheese, ham etc but no meats for sale, if you want to stay in and cook!! Hire a car (most deliver to aptts, 30€), and tour the island, visit Pyrgos the white village & Panormos stunning beach resort. There are lots of bars and restaurants in Tinos and supermarkets to get all your food and drink. Buses run every 2 hrs past resort from Tinos centre 1.4€ per person. We got some cheap flights with Olympic Holidays £60 from Manchester to Mykonos flying with Thomson Airlines fantastic service then on the 'super seacat' to Tinos. I recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful relaxing holiday with superb all round views of hills, beach & sea. You can see the other Islands and the ferries passing from the pool and beach, stunning. Will defo go back but would hire a car for the week and sightsee alot more.

Although my vacation in Tinos Island was short , I had an exceptional stay in this particular appartment hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean with some nice balconies with sea view. The garden and the pool area were well maintained and the staff more than helpful and kind including the reception, the restaurant, the pool and the house keeping. The beautiful sea shore is just some steps away. All in all a perfect place for vacation. If I had the chance I would go back again.
