“Great trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

This was the second time we did a dog sledding trip but this time we had to prepare our own sledge which was really nice as you got to know the dogs a bit. Our guide Thomas was really nice and knew a lot about the dogs. The tour was four hours in total and if we could do it again we would do a full day trip. They also had five puppies while we were there, so cute!! This was a great trip and the organization is professional and the dogs are treated well!!

“fantastic experience but a coffee would have been welcome!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2014

My husband and I took part in the Svalbard Husky dogsled trip. we did enjoy the whole experience. it was fun harnessing the dogs then feeding them when we returned from the trip. The only grumble we have is that refreshments arent offered. Just a coffee would have been appreciated, and would have been well deserved after such a busy few hours! Thank you to our guide Thomas who was lovely.( he was very patient when i let go of the sled accidentally!)

“The most awesome experience we have ever took part in!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

From the moment Thomas picked us up we felt relaxed & very excited once we had been kitted out with warm snow suits & boots, they even have hats & gloves to borrow. We arrived at the venue and got to meet the dogs and play and fuss them, all very friendly & loved the attention. You then get shown how to harness the dogs & do it yourself - I loved this interaction & it was great to be involved. The actual ride was breathtaking, great sights & the dogs love to run so got to be ready on that break! We went for miles & then changed over so we both got to steer. Irene & Thomas were great guides & looked after us all so well. It was the best experience ever. Thomas told us that some tourists did this 4 days in a row & I can understand why. We fed the dogs once we returned, again a great experience & now I recommend everyone going to Longyearbyen should do this! Wrap up warm though as cold on the sledge, warmer when steering but all great fun! Well done guys & a big Thank You!!

“Svalbard Husky (when there's no snow)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 December 2013

Because we visited in August, no snow was present so we had to take the wagon on wheels option. It was cool to see how the dogs are maintained and their living quarters, in addition to watching the guide select the dogs and load them in a trailer. One of the most fun parts was getting to be involved in hitching up the dogs to the sled. Be part of the process and getting our hands dirty was right down our alley. The ride itself was uneventful, but cool for our 3-year old granddaughter. Our guide was also able to share much information about Svalbard with us.
