“One of the Nicest 'If Not The Nicest' Place to Stay We have Ever Experienced”
Reviewed 7 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We Stayed at One of the Three Alderwood Lodges for 7 Days, All of the Properties are Stunning in All Respects: Location, Design & Facilities of the 3 Properties They are Situated in: 9 Acres of Plush 'Well Kept Greenery & Woodland' Wildlife in Abundance, from Deer to Otters and Large Amounts of Specialist Birds to Such an Extent 'The World Renown TV Personality & Botanist' Professor David Bellamy Personally Awarded Them a 'Gold Award for Conservation' when He Visited in June 2013 to Open the In-House Newly Completed Bird Observation Hide, Leigh, Connie & Peter (Owners), Still to This Day Work Closely with Prof Bellamy and Have a Substantial Defined Conservation Area within the 9 Acres that Surrounds the 3 Lodges, which Prof Bellamy is To this Day Deeply Involved In.

My Wife and I are Extremely Discerning (From Yorkshire Stock), We therefore 'Say It How it Is' I am Profoundly & Severely Disabled and One of the Three Lodges (Brambles), is Specifically Adapted to an Extremely High Standard to Cope with High Levels of Disability, We Stayed in May 2014 for the First Time with 2 Carers to Help Me Due to My Severe and Profound Disabilities 'All 4 of Us Thought this was the Best Place We had Ever Had the Good Fortune to Find' to Such an Extent My Wife and I 'Immediately Booked Another Week' in September 2014 and a 'Third Week' in May Next Year (2015), Don't Hold Back: Book a Week or Even Three before Leigh, Connie and Peter are Fully Booked: You Will Not Be Disappointed!

“Idyllic country setting, a perfect place to stay!””
Reviewed 7 October 2014 for a stay in March 2014

I have been staying at Alderwood Lodges for over 10 years now often 3or 4times a year. I think that says a lot.everything there you could possibly want ...well equipped and comfortable. Owners so very friendly on hand if needed and willing to help in any way.
I have stayed with my husband and daughter, or regularly with friends and often just me and my parents at various times of year.
Just shows how it feels like a second home.suits us all whatever our age.
Owner has plenty of local knowledge so can help with finding places goest out or for days out . Plenty of information leaflets available too.
Lovely little walks around , great for Doggie owners.
On arrival the place is spotless...you'd never know someone had been staying before.
A real break away in peaceful pleasant surroundings.
You won't be disappointed I can tell you!

As a group of friends we have visited the Lodges for over 6 years. Leigh and her family are superb at making your stay enjoyable. The lodges are well equipped nothing overlooked.
As dog owners its great that the dogs are welcome and they love it!! Plenty to do in surrounding areas with beautiful walks , beaches and the Broads a short distance away.
With so much stress these days its such a lovely place to stay to recharge the batteries doing as much or as little as you want.
Hope to see you soon Leighxx

“Excellent "home from home" with friendly, helpful owners.”
Reviewed 4 October 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This was our second stay at Alderwood Lodges and both have been first class experiences.
As avid walkers and birdwatchers, Norfolk has a wealth of experiences to offer ranging from over 40 Wildlife Trust sites to all of the many RSPB and other bird sites. The Lodges are ideally situated to reach all those that Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer within a maximum journey time of an hour.
The lodges themselves are like good quality hotel rooms but more spacious and better equipped.. They are warm and comfortable and being sited in a wildlife area, you wake up to being in the middle of the country.
Leigh and the team are concerned and considerate but discrete as well, the ideal attitude for the tenant who wants privacy but can seek local information quickly, too.
We will most certainly be back!

“A Home from Home”
Reviewed 4 October 2014 for a stay in October 2013

The woodland setting for Alderwood Lodges provides the perfect vacation for my family and I (ages 2-57)! A tranquil setting in natural surroundings with a variety of wildlife provides the perfect holiday experience for us. We have now used Alderwood Lodges for the past seven years (we live in Norway), providing a good base to travel to our relatives in Norwich and Brandon. A short distance from Diss and direct trains to London , as well as the historic town of Bury St. Edmunds. Banham Zoo is also a short ride away, as well as Bressingham Steam Railway museum. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks to Leigh and family for such a friendly welcome, not to mention the tea, coffee and biscuits when we arrive!

“A BEAUTIFUL HIDEAWAY”
Reviewed 3 October 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This is my sixth visit to Alderwood. The lodges are to a very high standard, very clean and like being at home. The lodges all have their own gardens and far enough away if you like your own privacy. This is a great place for children and pets. They can run around the grounds and woods and there is plenty of wildlife to see from deers to barn owls. The children loved the new bird hide that has been built in the woods, it comes alive at dusk! Leigh and Connie are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. If you love to be outdoors and enjoy a peaceful holiday, this is certainly the place for you!
