Description: Art Cafe is North Norfolk's only vegetarian restaurant, cafe and art gallery nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the glorious Glaven Valley. Situated 2 miles from the bustling market town of Holt and the coast at Blakeney, Glandford is a fantastic hamlet with miles of picturesque walks in fabulous countryside.Serving exceptional coffee, loose leaf teas and vegetarian made from locally sourced ingredients. Our indulgent cakes and scones are already renowned and we always have a great selection of gluten and dairy free options. Art Cafe also has a wonderful selection of paintings, ceramics and textiles from 24 local artists and makers giving the space a light and airy, bright and colourful feeling. With a sunny courtyard and garden for the summer months and a wood burning stove for cosy winter days, Art Cafe is a great, all-year-round location.

Having read good reviews on Trip Advisor and having been recommended the Art Cafe by a local, we were looking forward to our visit.
First impressions: lovely garden area and interior was also pleasant. Slightly disappointed by range of food on offer. My husband ordered a vegetarian curry which was very nice though portions were meagre for its £10 price tag. I ordered the Adult Toastie which turned out to be a slice of quite nice bread with some past-its-best asparagus and a strip of melted tasteless Mozarella, half a bag of crisps, some salad leaves and a tiny bowl of olives. Just lazy. Having had a gorgeous meal at the Folly Tearooms in Holt the day before for the same price- £7.95- it just seemed like a rip off.

Carrot cake and peanut blondie were nice but oversweet.

We won't be going back.

“New roastery, same lovely cakes”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

I returned to Art Cafe during Open Studios and discovered the new roastery - it is great! I love the different methods of coffee making/brewing etc. A great place to visit if you're really into your coffee. As ever, the paintings and crafts by local artists were thought provoking, creative and covered a wide range of themes and moods.
My short trip was finished perfectly with an extremely generous slice of chocolate cake, called something along the lines of Brooklyn Blackout - if it is there, get it, to die for. I will be returning shortly to try some of the other treats on offer.

“Yummy food, dog-friendly and free wi-fi”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

I had afternoon tea one day last week and returned for lunch the next day. Lovely food but a wee bit pretentious the way it's served - a "toastie" (actually a thick slice of delicious toast with a yummy topping) served on a wooden slab along with salad leaves and crisps. (Why does everyone add crisps?) It would have been easier to deal with on a plate. But lovely. And the pistachio and rose-water meringue, with cream, was to die for. Excellent coffee. Dogs are allowed in, and there's free wi-fi. Nice music (sort of easy jazz), nice decor. Very nice staff. There are tables outside, too. And there's a little craft/antiques shop in with the cafe. Brilliant art shop next door - wildlife prints (art prints - woodcuts, lino prints, etc.),

“Fantastic vegetarian food!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Visited the Art Cafe today with family and friends and enjoyed a delicious asparagus and gruyere tart with salad followed by a scrumptious peanut blondie cake! It was really tasty and the elderflower and apple cordial (locally made in Norfolk) I had was one of the best juices I have had. We also had a smooth cappuccino which was lovely! We all enjoyed our food and the service was attentive without being intrusive. One of my favourite places in Norfolk and can thoroughly recommend!
