Over the years we have spent a lot of time in Norfolk. Apple Trees is the best accommodation we have stayed in. Susie and Steve make every effort to make you feel welcome. The bungalow is very comfortable, spacious, tastefully furnished and decorated. The garden is ideal for kids, dogs or just relaxing in with great views of Holt Park. It is ideally situated for visiting the North Norfolk Coast, local National Trust properties and Norwich. The broadband works very well and is very easy to connect to.

This must have been our 3rd or 4th visit to Apple Trees so that says it all really. Deceptively spacious and very well equipped bungalow in a fantastic location. Lovely quiet cul de sac with friendly neighbours (including Rosie the elderly little cat who obviously remembered us as crazy cat people!) and overlooking fields at the back towards Holt Country Park. There is a twitchell (to use a Nottingham word ) at the side of the bungalow next door which is a short cut to the Country Park. The property is about a 15 to 20 minute steady walk to Holt town centre which saves the endless arguments over whose turn it is to drink or drive. Thanks again Steve and Susie.

“The best holiday property we have ever stayed in.”

We have spent a wonderful fortnight at Apple Trees near Holt. The bungalow is beautifully furnished with everything one could wish for in a holiday property. Very quiet area with a lovely Country Park just behind the garden and the pretty village of Holt is only a short walk away. So much to do and see, our two weeks has been full of new experiences with plenty of National Trust Properties and Gardens, beautiful villages and the coast only a short journey away. The owners are both very helpful and friendly ..we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Norfolk.

“Apple Trees - a well provided, clean, comfortable and conveniently situated holiday base for North Norfolk”

We spent a week at Apple trees in May. The property is just as described in previous reviews, being very well provided, immaculately clean and comfortable. The attention to detail in the décor and the facilities really demonstrates how much care Susie and Steve put into the property.

The location is particularly good. The bungalow is set in a quiet residential cul-de-sac, but you wouldn’t know that when sitting in the lounge and looking through the patio doors at Holt Country Park and the lovely trees. Although you can drive around to the car park (chargeable) and visitor centre on the far side of the park, it is easily accessible in a few minutes for free through the footpaths from the cul-de-sac (see the map hung on the kitchen wall). The footpaths also take you into the centre of Holt in about 10 minutes and that’s well worth exploring with some interesting shops and some good food.

If you want to get out and about in the car and explore the North Norfolk coast in particular, then Apple Trees is well situated for Sheringham and Cromer to the east and Wells-Next-The-Sea and Hunstanton to the west. The Thursford Collection (if you like working street and theatre organs and a Wurlitzer) is just 10 minutes’ drive away and is great for a wet afternoon.

The weather was quite cold and cloudy while we were there but it was always nice to come back to this warm and comfortable base. So much so, we have managed to book again for another week in July when hopefully the weather will be better.

It was so quiet, being in a cul-de-sac with the garden looking over a field to the country park, that we ate in on all but 2 evenings just to enjoy the tranquility. I guess most people come to these parts to visit the coast but there are some interesting places inland. We suggest you visit the village of Heydon, 8 miles down the road towards Norwich, during the day for a walk round the park and for the old world coffee shop (homemade tea cakes) and the village baker for exceptional bread. While you are there book dinner at The Earle Arms. - not too expensive and a real treat. Holt itself is a food-lovers paradise.

Our stay at Apple Trees near Holt was lovely. The bungalow is beautifully decorated and very comfortably furnished. The flat garden is ideal for children to play with grass and a few flower beds. It's location is really good for getting out and about to the coast and other places of local interest. The owners had put together a comprehensive folder of useful information for the duration of our stay which we found very helpful, including some leaflets with money off vouchers for local tourist spots. We would recommend Apple Trees as a perfect base for any holiday in north east Norfolk.

“Perfect Holiday (even with the weather!)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Apple Trees is located just a stones throw from Holt Country Park (you can laze in the garden and look over the park) a brilliant place for kids to trial / bike around. The street and area is very quiet so perfect to kick back and relax in the evening. However, if you want a bit more fun then Holt centre is only a few minutes walk away. Holt is a fantastic little town with great restaurants & shops so you can whistle through a few pounds in superfast time! There is more then plenty to do for the family within 10 miles of Holt. Beaches, Nature Reserves, Boating Trips, Shopping, Crabbing, Biking, Bird Watching .... the list goes on. You will not be disappointed with the location or Apple Trees. The accommodation is first rate! Beautiful kitchen (can I take it home with me please!), well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, grill, microwave, oven and great hob! Even a cafetiere for your coffee... Lounge / Diner is a great size with views over the garden then onto fields and country park. Both en-suite and main bathroom were very smart and the bedrooms were very comfortable. I traveled as a family of 4 with two kids, 4 and 6 who loved the place as much as my wife and I. Whole heatedly recommend.
