Had a lovely birthday lunch with a friend here. Have been to afternoon tea in the lovely little courtyard garden last summer and returned to sample the delights in the tea room. We thoroughly enjoyed the salmon and scone meal and a wild mushroom on sourdough meal. A very good selection of different teas were on offer and we enjoyed those too. Sadly on this occasion we were unable to "fit in" any cake but know from experience how good these are. In particular a full selection of gluten free sponges. Thank you ladies for being so good!

We visited the follys for a birthday and loved the atmosphere the food gorgeous surrounding but was left a bit disappointed by the service! We revisited a few weeks later and there was a distinctive improvement as they knew we were coming and everything being just so BUT we couldn't eat the delightful little cakes or scones from our afternoon tea so they kindly wrap them for you to bring home lovely we would enjoy later for supper with a cup of tea!! When we arrived home looking forward to our delights we opened to find sadly they weren't there we had been given a finger sandwich and scone from someone else's afternoon tea!! A lady who we acknowledged earlier sitting near us on her own enjoying her afternoon tea so not only were we very disappointed she must of been too! It really can't be that hard to get things right can it? With two members of staff and only four tables to wait on 7 people in total at the time?we know mistakes happen but such a shame we loved this find of such a gem of a tearoom but cannot bring ourselves to go back it would be too embarrassing but it's worth a visit if you go to holt if they can get it right everytime a real gem if a tearoom.

As 2013 is drawing to it's close, my wife and I were reflecting on how the Folly Tea Room had changed our lives! For one, our hair appointments and that of some friends, have to be fitted in with a coffee, Folly Scones or cakes in the mornings, or a Folly Afternoon Tea, appropriately in the afternoon. This means we have to go on the 5:2 diet to compensate!!
Opened in February, the Folly has stuck to it's excellence in everything. The food is mouth watering,The staff are always welcoming, polite and efficient. The ambience is always excellent, with the china, fresh flowers and white cloths on the table, and very pretty napkin rings, and always spotlessly clean.
The Pop up shop is first class, with an array of Christmas gifts. Had to buy some!!
The whole complex fits in with Holt's profile, and is a tremendous asset to the Town.

What a great find! Absolutely delicious food, with good choices for vegetarians and gluten-free diets. Attentive and friendly service. Beautiful decor. Amazing selection of teas, including Chocofolly, which tastes of - you guessed it! And very good value. We visited twice in one weekend! Will definitely be coming back, hopefully in summer for a chance to sit in the gorgeous garden. Thank you!
