Second time we have popped in for a bit of lunch here - today we had their club sandwich served with crispy chips & a salad garnish - lots of it, really tasty, great presentation & fabulous service from the cheerful barmaid/waitress. Sat outside in the lovely sun filled garden (one of the few in Holt) - it really was quite special - we'll be back !!!

We have just returned from staying at The Lawns for 3 nights. What can I say about it? It is old fashinioned niceness at its best. Being greeted with a smile and shall I take your bags? To the little touches, fresh milk everyday in your room, bottled water and biscuits in the cupboard, tea and coffee replaced every day, or being able go to the floor below and help yourself, having the complimentary toiletories replaced every day. Proper bath sheets to wrap around after a lovely bath, with proper hot water every time, face flannels, (never had these supplied in any other hotel we have stayed in), thermostatic controlled radiators at you finger tips, the breakfasts, now here the cooked breakfast menu is extensive and the choice from the buffet is great. The meals in the eveining are wonderful, well done to the chef, especially for the pan fried duck breast. The staff themselves are all lovely, very very courteous and not in your face, always smiling and cheerful, the owners must have it right because the staff are so relaxed but busy, the owners themselves roll up their sleeves as well. The gardens are lovely and a pleasure to sit in and listen to the Owls in the evening. A hotel I have no hesitation in recommending I would give it 4 stars at least.
Thank you for a wondeful 4 days 3 nights.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 7 the only problem if you keep the window open at night the dustman come Thursday morning and are noisey.

We stayed at The Lawns for 2 nights and were in room 8. There was a warm welcome on arrival, we were shown to our room and had our bags carried up for us. There was a lovely big bathroom and my only complaint was that it had an over the bath shower with no holder for a stand up shower. There were lovely big towels, the bed was comfortable with quality bedding and fresh milk for tea. Breakfast was excellent both mornings and I wish we had eaten dinner here one of the nights. Would definately recommend.

Welcoming staff, quality accommodation, excellent breakfast. What more can I say. This place ticks all the boxes and offers accommodation unrivalled in Holt. It's a shame that hotels some distance from Holt still feature in the Tripadvisor list for Holt as this place should be number one.

We were welcomed with a smile and our bags were taken to our room which was room number nine, our room was large with their ensuite bathroom two chairs and table tv and drinks making facilities everything was clean in both our room and all the bar/restaurant areas and they had lovely gardens. If I can remember breakfast is served between eight and 10 o'clock which was fantastic as we were not particularly early risers on the first day. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody going to holt as it is superb value for money.
