“2 excellent stays”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

We've stayed there twice now, over Easter holidays for the last two years and it has been excellent value for money - you only have to look at other accommodation in the surrounding area to know that. It puts you in good driving distance of any of the little towns and villages along down the coast, which is what we tend to do rather than stay in Sunny Hunny. We have eaten in their restaurant both times though, and the food has been excellent and the staff had made it a very nice and relaxed affair; In particular, the young gentleman Alex just really brightened up our stay both times, so we'd like to thank him.

We stopped here for a night on a bike trip.

Better than average rooms, clean and comfortable enough.

We ate there in the evenning and that was very nice and good value.

Breakfast - OK.

Shame it is pay as you go rather than a bill at the end - it's just a little hassle though.

Well ! after a few visits to the Marine Hotel ? this was probably our last were very sorry to say !on arrival the parking had improved its just a shame at £75 a night room only the accommodation hasn't ! unclean floors, stains on all walls ,staff who wouldn't know you from adam despite many visits ! bulb out in bathroom ! WHO'S CHECKING ??? YOU ARE LOSING VALID CUSTOMERS !!!! PS the food cooked by a "great chef " is to die for !! ITS A SHAME !! AT £75 a night in this "state" you need to include breakfast !!!! a polite tip !!
and be prepared at 8am the plumbing wakes you up with what sounds like drilling !!!

Room Tip: take a gamble honestly !!!

The Marine was recommended to us by my Brother in law who has stopped here a number of times. The staff are first class, efficient, friendly and helpful. We had a large sea view room with a comfortable queen size bed in it, also a large settee and plenty of draw and wardrobe space. The room was very clean with plenty of space for our 2 Labrador dogs also. The hotel is extremely dog friendly, one of the reasons we chose it. The en-suite bathroom was also large, well appointed with a bath, an extremely good shower, loo and washbasin. There is free on site parking. Food in the bar is very good where you also have your breakfast of which there is a good selection from traditional ( Large and tasty) to just cereal and toast. We will be stopping here again !!

Room Tip: Ask for room 3 Nelson, best room if available, other rooms very good if not.

Comfy warm room, clean - great shower. Good food, reasonably priced.

BUT: not their fault in that a group of young, male contractor workers created mayhem on our first night there - fun and games (theirs) from 12.30 - 3am!! However - although we received apologies the offer of a free breakfast or some other sweetener would have helped and created some goodwill - which was lacking the next morning on our part!! I would say they have to work a bit on customer relations! One young member of staff was excellent but it wasn't his place to offer such compensation.

Room Tip: The front for seaviews but the back/side for a quieter night.

Been comming to the Marine Hotel and bar for years now, always been great.Nice big, clean rooms with sea views. Very central, free on site car parking but most of all it's dog friendly. The staff are very helpful. Wide selection of food in the bar and beer kept well it's also where you have breakfast if you want it and many people come in just for the breakfast. I often go on my own with my dog and always feel welcomed and chat with the locals.

Room Tip: I like room 3. It's big with 2 huge windows, I like to sit by them people watching. The sunsets...

In Hunstanton and wanting somewhere to eat, we had parked behind the Princess Theatre and this bar is opposite. You walk down a few steps in to the bar area, we had 1/2 pints of Adnams Ale which was very nice and ordered a BLT sandwich each at £4.00, as we were eating in the evening we didn't want a big meal, oh dear how wrong, but pleasantly wrong, not your normal slice of bread, more 'doorstep, and that is not being nasty, most places would serve normal sliced bread as a sandwich but here I gather it was cut off the loaf, inside the sandwich was the bacon, tomato and some lettuce, more lettuce and crisps (chips if you are from USA) and a sachet of salad cream and tomato sauce., yes not so much a sandwich but a feast. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I cannot comment on the hotel as we only called in the bar for the sandwich and the Adnams, the Real Ale swung it for me, but looking at the menu/advertising leaflet on the table we might be staying there for a couple of nights soon, because of the price.
