“A very peaceful setting”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

We stayed 4 nights in mid July. The hotel was on the outskirts of Old Hunstanton village and in a very peaceful and quiet situation. All the public rooms were comfortable and clean and the food was very good, especially breakfast. Apparently it was a farm way back in time and all the buildings had been converted to a hotel. As it is a grade listed building all the refurbishment was carefully monitored. The buildings were accessed via neat tidy pathways with tables and chairs dotted around away from the public areas so one could enjoy the tranquility of the grounds. The staff on the whole were friendly and helpful although I feel there are a couple of issues that should be addressed in the restaurant. Overall an enjoyable stay and will certainly use the hotel again when in the area.
The surrounding is very interesting with plenty of history and interesting buildings and many places to visit. The hotel is on a main bus route and you can get to many of the coastal towns without too much trouble.
Of course when in the area a visit to Sandringham is a must and well worth the admission fee.

Room Tip: Most rooms appeared to be at ground level especially good for the less mobile but as said the hotel...

Enjoyed a very happy weekend here . Hotel was clean and comfortable .Stayed in The junior suite which was very spacious and pleasant with comfortable chairs .Large ensuite ...if I have a moan it is that the shower was a little under powered and the toilet seat seemed rather flimsy and buckled a little when you sat down....but these are minor grumbles because our stay was very good.
The food was tasty and well presented and the portions of good size. The staff werevery helpful.
The weather was very warm so we sat outside .Lots of comfortable seating andno shortage, however some of the patio areas were a little dull and would have been more welcoming with a tub or two coloured flowers ....(.there are only courtyard gardens and no extensive grounds.)
I would recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.

Room Tip: Book the junior suite for a special celebration as it is so nicely appointed.

Nice room, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was of a good quality and service could not be faulted. Nice outside areas to relax in. Very handy for the beach and local restaurants. DVD player, fridge and air com in room.

Room Tip: Wi fi is weak.

We booked late and the hotel was full on the first Saturday of the school holidays. We were in a room at the rear of the main area, which behind the door had a staircase to the first floor accommodation. There were atmospheric problems with the TV signal, which had improved by the following morning. We would have liked a stand-up shower rather than a bath with shower attachment: the positioning of the bath was such that it was not possible to stand up. With greater availability of rooms it would probably be worth specifying a proper shower if that is required. The room was quiet and the king-size bed was comfortable. Breakfast was civilised, even in a busy dining room, and we were shown to our table. Full English breakfast was available at the buffet with extras such as kippers and black pudding by request. All other usual options were available. Seating outside was plentiful, there is a sufficiently large car park and the bar is generally well stocked, though bottled bitter is best kept out of the fridge! We would go there again.

Thank you for leaving us a review.

Just to clarify the tv signal which you mentioned - unfortunately this is something we are aware of and unfortunately at a loss to resolve, although it is a very occasional occurrence caused by high pressure (according to BBC's website) it does normally settle down by early evening.

We hope to welcome you back soon.

Agree with most reviews staff friendly. Our first day there was straight after easter i.e. the Tuesday evening meal was not very good as per the breakfast as well next day. So to sure if Chef was off post easter. The second night meal was much better and also the breakfast. The rooms more than adequate.

Thank you for your review.

I am unsure as to why the food quality should have dropped at any point during your stay and have passed on your comments to our head chef to further investigate. Needless to say we apologise for this and hope we get a future chance to correct it.
