“Excellent, but...”
Reviewed 20 September 2007

Saw the previous review here when looking for a hotel in Hunstanton. Looked at the hotel website and liked what we saw.

The standard of furnishings, decoration, en suite and public areas was of a very high standard. The style chosen for the refurbishment was certainly to our own personal tastes.

The hosts were friendly, the food etc was very good.

We have a few very small gripes and one larger one. If booking this hotel make sure you are not booked into one of the rooms at the rear of the hotel, in what is perhaps an extension built many years ago. The walls between bedrooms are paper thin. Need I say more!

Attention to detail isn't quite there perhaps. We stayed more than one night and our damp towels were still there in the bathroom when we came back at the end of the day. This may not be a problem if the heated towel rail was working or if the bathroom had a window to open to let some air in.

The remaining very small gripe was the kneck of the brown and tomato sauce bottles at breakfast desparately needed a clean.

Having said all of that, would I recommend this hotel to others? Yes, most definately, but avoid the rear bedrooms.

I stayed in this hotel after meeting someone who was responsible for the renovations, and was very pleasantly surprised.

The whole place has been re-fitted and it makes for a lovely place to stay in Hunstanton.

I went with my boyfriend and our room had a seaview. The room had lovely new furniture and was very luxurious and modern and we had a lovely time.

The managers were great, very friendly and helpful and let us know the best things to do in the area.

We played crazy golf, went for some lovely walks and then had a great home cooked meal at the hotel. The restaurant is very nice and I would have to say the breakfast was excellent.

The lounge is also a great place to relax and have a coffee between doing things in the daytime.

I would definiitely recommend this to anyone, and my parents loved it too.
