“Perfect weekend getaway”

I have just spent the most agreeable sunny weekend at Anchor Barn. The house is perfect for a cooking / relax getaway. The kitchen with its sliding door into the garden is perfect for social cooking and the rest of the house spacious and very comfortable .
If in the high tide Morston Quay is the perfect point to take a boat and go explore Blakeney Point, in low tide the walking paths along the marshes provide an exquisite place for a long walk.
oh! and Sarah is the nicest host

“Warmth of the Norfolk people reflected in wonderfully converted barn”

Morston is a great place to stay and I loved Anchor Barn, The conversion has been done really well, you get a sense of a lovely family staying there. I went with some close friends and a couple I hadn't met before. We loved the spaciousness of anchor barn and the amazingly friendly Norfolk people. We are all black and you don't expect such openness and warmth. I love cooking so it was great to be told of a local butchers 20 mins away who provided great pork belly at far better prices than our Waitrose in London.

The one couple who were friends of friends were so impressed with the layout, the amazing relaxing design and ambience that they and their friends booked another weekend a month later. I imagine that it is great for kids as all the cots etc were available. If you want a fancy dinner Galton Blackiston's morston Hall is about 50 metres away. it was too expensive for our budgets and I just cooked some of his excellent recipes from his book which was available in the great village shop 5 mins away. There are so many great places to visit not least Blakeney point and we were lucky enough for the local boatman to take us much closer to the seals than the tourist boat.

I loved it so much that I have been back 3 times and we are planning to have a great family get together as soon as I can convince my brother to leave the city for a couple of days. I would say that you get a real sense of genuine warmth from the owner and it's clear that she really wants you to have a lovely time. Highly recommend it if you want relaxed high standard accommodation with the wonderful Norfolk people.

“We loved Anchor Barn”
Reviewed 19 October 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We had a great stay at Anchor Barn which included gorgeous walks on Holkham Beach, cycle rides round the estuaries, amazing fruit picking and delicious cake at Wiverton Hall as well as a boat trip with seal watching. It's a great location, lovely and quiet and has everything you need. We're thinking about a big family trip next time as all of us will be super comfy and there is something for everyone.

“Lovely!”

We had a lovely weekend in this lovely barn, a real homely, bright and comfortable place which is ideally located in Morston - minutes from the quay, steps from the pub! Would highly recommend.

“Great time”
Reviewed 7 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

6 Adults - 2 toddlers and 2 babies all stayed at the Anchor Barn for two nights/three days for a family wedding. Absolutely ideal - has plenty of space. It feels like home and has every thing you need. Loved the hugh lounge with comfy sofa's and big kitchen/dinning area. The only comment the children made was the small screen TV but it made them sit on the floor and be quiet!! - Has a lovely garden, seemed a shame we were not around longer to enjoy everything. The Anchor Inn pub is infront of the property where you can get good food and was very busy. There is not much else in the village but that didn't effect our short stay.

“Lovely spacious family barn”
Reviewed 22 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Only stayed for 2 nights but its got a great location . Very close to the coast and a really nice pub at the end of the drive which serves good quality pub grub. Cleanliness could definitely be improved though.
