We visited the Norfolk Park site 19th 22nd Aug and stayed in G3. Overall we had a nice time, the lodge was nice a clean which is always a concern (I am a clean freak). I was concerned the place would smell doggy as we were able to take our small dog but it didn’t, no trace of previous pets. A really nice touch was they had put up a birthday banner for my husband. The kitchen was well equipped. Our decking didn’t get any sun which can’t be help but if we returned I would want a lodge which did. The hot tub was fantastic for the children.
The main issue is the lack of facilities on site. A play ground is needed children and a shop is needed too. No phone reception or wifi meant we were unable to order take away or anything. The restaurant was average. The pub opposite (The Bluebell) was dated but staff were friendly, the food was tasty but also dated (very 80’s).
There are lots of nice beaches to visit and we found the staff at reception very helpful. The pool was enjoyed by the children although it was cold.
Something the park had no control over but we had to put up with was one particularly horrid guest also staying at the park. He would scream and shout at his children/wife. We were in doors and our children were on the decking and we heard what we thought was a fight (adults), my husband went outside to get the children in and it was a grown man shouting at a toddler. Disgusting.
Would we visit again…..probably not unless it was a good offer. The accommodation was nice, but it is quite expensive (almost £700 for 3 nights), similar to what Center Parcs cost but without the facilities. For someone thinking of staying, the accommodations at ‘The Oaks’ number 1 to 5 were the best positioned and looked the most luxurious.
