Description: Set in delightful North Norfolk countryside, our stylish award winning restaurant features a fashionable modern interior complete with a sumptuous lounge and spectacular bar. A fantastic choice for any occasion whether it's a breakfast to kick start the day or a quick coffee, a light lunch or an a la carte lunch or dinner, through to a birthday celebration or wedding celebration. Good food has always been a vital ingredient of The Olive Tree's delivery and an important connection with its rural location. The restaurant offers a Modern British food style using only the best local, fresh ingredients - organic wherever possible, including vegetables, salad leaves, and herbs from our own garden. Everything is prepared on-site on a daily basis enabling us to cater for all dietary requirements including coeliac, vegetarians, diabetics, vegans and allergies. Our guiding principle is quite simply to source and prepare the fabulous seasonal produce on our doorstep, providing real food with true flavours. There is also a lovely Mediterranean-style outside terrace with a central picturesque water feature with Koi Carp, box hedges, olive trees and fronds of papyrus grass, which is ideal for al fresco dining and drinks on warm summer evenings. From April to October guests are also welcome to use the outdoor heated swimming pool which lies adjacent to the terrace where they can relax on the comfy sun loungers and chairs.

“Shame - could be fantastic, not for us!”

We were staying close toThe Olive Tree so we thought we would try it. What a disaster!
The waitress who took our drinks order asked how to spell 'Campari', we should have known at this stage. Then we waited over 20 minutes for our order to be taken (please note there we only two other tables eating, not exactly busy!). The starters, for the price, were expensive and poor quality. Then we waited another 20 minutes for the mains, in fact the waiters/waitresses were discussing who was taking what to the tables after the food was out onto the serving area a good 5 minutes before bringing to the table. The food was terrible, greasy, greasy, greasy is all I can say! The steak burger resembled one from a packet and not a good one at that, the chips were greasy and tasted old. Then. We waited yet ANOTHER 20 minutes watching the 'manager' chatting to other 'drinking' customers, the other two staff just kept waking past as if we were invisible. We called them over eventually. The 'manager' apologised and offered complimentary desserts, coffee and no charge for the burger. Yes she recovered well, but alas all too late I'm afraid. Risk it if you wish. To sum up, dreadful service and overpriced dreadful food. Oh and I forgot we ordered vegetables to go with the Pork, they forgot! And eventually bought out some asparagus - strange.!

“Good food, great setting, just a shame it wasn't full”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

We ate here as a couple last week. We'd booked a table so can't comment on whether you definitely need a reservation or not. There were only 2 other tables being used.
We were staying in a lodge in the park so received 10% discount.
We found service to be quick, if anything it would have been nice to have had a longer break between the starter and main.
Portions were a good size, definitely no room for dessert.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
More choice on the menu for non-fish eating vegetarians (only 2 options) would have been good.
All in all we had a good meal and would return if we were in the area again.

“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

Hidden away in North Walsham is the Olive Tree.
while visiting relatives we were taken here to enjoy an evening meal and a few drinks
The setting is like sitting in the med sunshine , outside with a swimming pool , fish swimming about in their sunken pools. the choice is yours you can dine in or al fresco, lots of outdoor seating.
polite obliging staff, good food well done to all concerned.

“Amazing 10/10”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

Well what can we say we attended the Father's Day BBQ and music with Lee Vann, there was a good group of us and it was just amazing. The food was a BBQ but it was so tasty and there were plenty of options to choose from. The kids were in the pool most of the afternoon, while the adults enjoyed the entertainment. The place was buzzing with life and everyone was in good spirits!
We have been to the restaurant a couple of times now and it's just getting better and better.
I'd be very proud of the all the staff for making this place a huge hit in a very small town and all the village talks about is that the best place to eat is the Olive Tree!
The Sunday lunches are to die for too, the Chef & staff certainly know their stuff!
We will back again very soon, keep up the good work!

“Love it here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

I eat here regularly but this is the first time I have had a light lunch. It was fab sitting outside by the fish ponds in the sun. I had mussels and they were excellent, my friend had a prawn & crayfish sandwich which was huge. She said it was a sandwich "to die for". The staff and chef are wonderful and always make you so welcome
