Ordered our food for delivery at 19.15pm, the guy on the phone wasn’t much help when my partner asked about the flavour of a curry he wanted to try, responded with ‘it’s just hot’. He was quite distracted and kept repeating himself, he repeated our order and address/number correctly before we confirmed our order.
So we awaited our food, it got to 21.00 and we finally had a knock at the door to find the manager standing there quite flustered with a bag of food. He was upset as apparently he had rang our number five times as he couldn’t find our address, and he had been driving around town for over 45 minutes with our order. My partner had repeated his number three times and had given our address out clearly and correctly, twice.
The manager was clearly fed up, and said ‘well you don’t have to take this food!’ We asked if it was still warm (temp outside is currently 3C), he said ‘yes i took it back to the restaurant and they made it fresh’ At which we said ‘ok as long as it’s fresh and hot we’ll take it’ he then responded with ‘ooh no this has been reheated twice.’
At that point we could not accept the food, reheated twice, over £25 it would of cost us, for clearly ruined food.
Rather sad, as i have enjoyed there food over the years, although sometimes it’s been too salty and a couple of times we’ve had to bin the food because of it. The majority has been positive. We are shocked the manager was not even offering a free/discounted meal as we had waited nearly two hours for a reheated meal. The manager ended things with ‘next time you order with us ring again after some time to prevent this’ it was as though this was our fault in the way he spoke.
I cannot abide rudeness and we felt this experience was sadly worth writing about.
