“Breakfast in the kitchen”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

Sue is the perfect hostess. We were treated like royal persons. The garden is an oases with roses and flowers which can make every butterfly envious. We liked the family feeling when eating breakfast in the kitchen at a big table. Everything worked VERY well at this great B&B. It is a fantastic starting point for the many beautiful places on the coast of North Norfolk. Take the steam train to Hold for a day and have afternoon tea at Folly Tearoom. Take the coast hopper (bus) to Blakeney - also for a full day. The afternoon tea and blueberry muffin at Blakeney Hotel is fantastic - and you cannot get anything better in the whole UK. The cliff at Sheringham is in a short walking distance.
ENJOY and give yourself a fantastic time in Norfolk!

Room Tip: Go for 4 stars B&B rated at more than 9 out of 10.

It is lovely to have visitors from other countries and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. The big oak kitchen table has seen many years of service and guests seem to really appreciate the farm style breakfast.

Pirate House is a lovely place to stay. Just 5 minutes walk from the seafront or the High Street. Sue and John are excellent hosts. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

The bedroom is spotlessly clean with a lovely view over the garden. It has all the essentials and some thoughtful extras....toiletries, beach towels, mini fridge, bath robes......... and a very cosy bed.

The breakfast is excellent, freshly made, with plenty of choice.....and as much home made toast as you want.

A very enjoyable visit.Would definately recommend Pirate House as a place to stay

So pleased you enjoyed everything Pirate House has to offer. Its lovely to hear about how much people appreciate the garden . I had many family members and friends staying and offering advice on their ideal B&B ,hence the 'extras'!

Wow what a brilliant week we have just had. Within 24 hours we felt we were staying with two of our best friends and we hope that is what Sue and John will become (not forgetting Holly!). We suppose it helped that they were so much on our wavelength. Everything about the accommodation was superb but what really made our holiday so special was that our hosts did everything they could to make it special. Sue and John were so knowledgeable about the area and helped to tailor our days out to perfectly suit our needs. Delicious breakfasts (don't forget to check out the Canadian Muffins), if weather allows in Sue's lovingly created garden. Thanks very much Sue and John see you again soon. We are missing you already. Tim and Rosie

So looking forward to welcoming you back. Will make sure the home cooking is up to scratch-particularly the muffins. I think we will need to start a new competition for the most original beach pebble!

Great welcome to such a beautiful house. The food was to die for and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather allowing us to eat in the fragrant garden. We certainly will book again, perhaps in the cooler months to take advantage of the open fire in the private lounge. Sheringham centre is a pleasant stroll away - so the car can stay parked!

I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. Sue and John were so friendly and welcoming with great ideas on new places to visit, and John even drew maps for me! The breakfasts were delicious and even my partner was a convert to Sue's mouthwatering maple syrup pancakes - and her home made breads - well, just scrumptious!

The accommodation was absolutely spotless and the sitting room a welcome retreat for a spot of late night reading after hectic days and leisurely dinners at some great restaurants in Sheringham - all recommended of course.

Certainly worth another visit. We will return! Thank you Sue and John.

This was our second visit to The Pirate House, and once again we had a superb stay. Sue and John are fantastic hosts, very helpful with recommendations( we loved Stody by the way) the house is warm and comfortable, bedroom and sitting room beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, breakfast excellent. Once again, the garden looked fantastic. We will be back next Year for the orchids. Thank you both once again for a great time.

We are celebrating our 2nd anniversary for B&B. One of the best parts about the business is welcoming guests back. We are delighted that you are just as enthusiastic about your stay as you were the first time. I am flattered by your praise of the garden, coming as it does from an expert. I look forward to you seeing the amazing wild orchids next June.

I don't have much to add to the other excellent reviews, as they cover all of the essential details, except to say that I booked this trip for some much needed r&r, to do some walking and hoping for plenty of fresh air. Pirate House ticked everything on my wish list for somewhere to stay. Warm and welcoming, Sue and John looked after me very well, including helping me plan my (beautiful and varied) walks, as I was new to the area. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a break on their own, but who would enjoy the personal attention Pirate House offers; while I had the privacy of my room and own sitting room (how fantastic!), Sue or John were on hand if I needed anything and I felt very welcome in their lovely home. I look forward to my return in a few months. Jane
