We quite often eat here. During quieter times of the year they have a special offer where you can buy one meal and get another for £1. A good menu and specials board (although the specials board doesn't change very often). Very reasonably priced even without the offer. Typically English pub food and good sized portions. It's best to book as it does get very busy especially on evenings when there is an event/entertainment. Service is always prompt and friendly although the drinks are a little overpriced. Excellent location on the seafront and if the weather allows there is plenty of outside seating. Nice to see a pub which still has a pool, table and dartboard.

We were pointed in the direction of this pub restaurant by a local from another pub when we were searcing for a lunch time meal. They always say if the locals use it, it must be good and they are right.

It was basic pub fayre but well cooked, very generous porions, always piping hot and tasty and the staff were really friendly and polite.

We only eat there lunch time on a couple of occasions but would happily return and feel comfortable recommending it.

Pub seemed friendly and allowed our dog to come in with us to two parts of the bar, which was very handy. Food OK, nothing to write home about.

We were here in Sheringham and being a warm, sunny autumn day, decided on trying a typical English fish and chips lunch somewhere overlooking the sea for a view.

Strolling along the waterfront we came across the Crown Inn with benches and tables outside in the sun and a great view over the North Sea.

With a choice of fish on offer with chips, it was suggested we try the Plaice which ended up being a nice choice and at £8.50 per serve, good value. The Plaice I would suggest as a good choice for those that prefer a less “fishy” taste in their fish. The fillet is quite thin and not a thick juicy fish. On the plate with the Plaice were perfectly cooked chips (crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside), peas and salad. A bit different for us from Australia is the peas which seem common when ordering fish a chips here in England. Depending on the establishment as to whether it's mushy peas or not mushy peas.

A good lunch for us and a perfect day to enjoy sitting by the sea, although the bench seats are quite uncomfortable after a while, which can be my only complaint. We could always have eaten at very comfortable tables inside, but with perfect weather outside we chose sitting out enjoying it. I’d be more than happy to go back for a feed here again anytime I find myself in Sheringham.
