“Much bigger than it looked and interesting for all”

It was well set out and had lots of additional information. We went as a family and all found bits we particularly enjoyed. The 'shops' on the first floor were fascinating. Well worth a visit.

“Excellent Local Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

Very good exhibits bringing alive the history of the town with the sea. You can certainly while away a good 3 hours or more. The small row of old shop fronts was good. The turbine wind farm display was very educational with interactive items for the children to learn from. The panorama viewing tower is worth a visit.

“Why haven' t been here before! to the 'Mo' Sheringham.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

At last we went to the 'Mo' (named after a lady who once lived in a cottage on the site, in days of yore.) What a lovely surprise I had, there was an added attraction of the 'History of Ganseys,' the woollen jumpers that fishermen wore/wear, with examples of the patterns which are different for fishing villages all round our coast. Some families also had their own individual designs,, sometimes it was only the design which identified a seaman who was lost at sea, when his body was recovered.
I spent some time looking at the video presentations and sorting through the samples. Eventually I wandered through the rest of the Museum, which recorded the History of both the 'Sheringhams'
with very interesting areas to explore....it is also the 'home of Retired Lifeboats'
It is a new building, well lit, lifts and toilet facilities....very helpful staff on hand to answer any questions...We shall definitely go again, next year when there will be a different focus. There is plenty for children to see.
The entry fee is very reasonable....and the Gift Shop prices were good value....for a change.

“Interesting.”

This is a great place to visit, telling the story of Sheringham lifeboats over the years. Several boats to look at and really friendly staff to explain things. Don't miss the upstairs glass viewing area
