This is an excellent holiday property for a couple to explore Norfolk or just to relax and unwind.
It has everything you could need for your stay, and its double bed is very comfortable, with a good hot shower. The front door of the property opens onto a beautiful, open and spacious garden, wonderful to sit in on a sunny day. Although the property is attached to the main house, guests are totally self contained and private.
There is lots of information on what to do in the let. The National Trust property of Oxburgh Hall is very close by. The attractive market towns of Swaffham and Downham Market are easily accessible by car, and there is the option of exploring the wonderful north Norfolk coast.
We are cyclists and appreciated the quiet country lanes and the easy bicycling terrain. There is plenty available for walkers with the ancient long distance Peddars Way passing through the area.
Carol and Brian are very welcoming hosts, happy to give advice and information about the locality if needed.
A super spot.

“Norfolk at its best”
Reviewed 21 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

For more than 16 years The Old Rectory has been our second home in England. and we have just returned from our latest stay: Carole and Brian are among the most hospitable people we have met in UK, and it is only a pleasure to stay in Beachamwell. The garden is wonderful, and the "head-gardener" is always ready to answer questions and Carole is a font of information about what to see. And we are coming back...

“Peaceful setting amongst beautiful gardens”
Reviewed 7 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Excellent accommodation. Nice and quiet. Beautiful garden ideal for a barbecue.
We walked and cycled, bought locally grown Asparagus for Supper. We loved the owners two sleek black cats Tom and Jerry who occasionally wander past. Friendly locals, joined in their fund raising fun bike ride to raise money for the historical village Church.

“A real "home from home" in a great location”
Reviewed 24 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This is a perfect base for lovers of the country.

The apartment is comfy, clean and well-equipped and is in a lovely setting. We found the kitchen to have everything we needed to cater for ourselves, and there were plenty of books, games, DVDs, etc. for wetter days, and folders of information about the area. The Wi-Fi was handy too. The setting is great; the flat has its own front door opening onto a lovely part of an extensive garden. In fact the outdoor sitting area was a real suntrap. And owners, Carole and Brian, could not have made us more welcome.

Beachamwell itself is a really pretty village set around a "picture postcard" village green with an unusual thatched church. We found walking paths in all directions and lots of (mostly!) flat country lanes to explore by bike. (The owners pointed out some great routes. They even lend out bikes to those who've not brought them!)

This is also a good base for getting to know the area, with lots of interesting days out. We especially enjoyed nearby Oxburgh Hall, and the village of Castle Acre . King's Lynn is only 20 minutes away and the lovely North Norfolk coast about 40. To the South, there's Thetford Forest ( more good cycling there!) and Grimes Graves. Some of the neighbouring villages have good pubs for meals out, and there are more pubs and restaurants in Swaffham, which is about 4 miles away.

All in all, this was a real home from home in a great spot in the country. We'll certainly be back!

“A lovely, clean apartment in beautiful surroundings.”

This is an ideal apartment for a relaxing break. It is very clean and comfortable. Guests are able to wander around the large well kept garden, and even as we have done spend all day in it. Carole, the host, gives a fantastic welcome each time we arrive there, and this was our fourteenth year. That shows how much we love the place.
There are plenty of sights to see and things to do nearby, so we are never at a loss finding something new and interesting in the area.

“Tranquil Retreat set in lovely gardens”

This was a clean and comfortable apartment which was part of the main house, although it had its own entrance. The bed was clean and comfortable and the lounge area had decent seating with enough equipment to keep me entertained. The hosts offered free Wi-Fi which was fairly fast, working fine in the lounge area but not extending as far as the kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped but compact, so cooking for any more than 2 people would be problematic, there was also a decent dining area. The gardens the apartment is set in are lovely and the hosts are very knowledgeable gardener who seem to be out working on it every day. Mind you it is over 2 acres. The whole experience was very good and the hosts where very welcoming. They even do honey!
